“Organised Bohemian”
Reviewed 13 December 2013

Quite a fun somewhat Bohemian strip along South Congress with specialty shops, antique shops, artistic places, bric-a-brac shops, bookshops, restaurants, motels, a really nice extensive costume shop, many food trucks, and of course the famous love wall for photo opportunities (see photo!). Five minut drive from downtown. Visiting on a cold winter Saturday, parking was easy on the street. Even though freezing cold, there were still lines outside the famous Hopdoddy designer hamburger restarant (see photo).

“Too cool for its own good!”
Reviewed 12 November 2013

Not so long ago, this place was great. Easy parking & a great place to stroll. Interesting restaurants; shops with fair prices; great food trucks; street vendors & performers. Not so much of any of the previous is true now. The place has been over-developed & Disney-fied. Parking is ridiculously scarce now, & restaurant & retail prices have skyrocketed. (I'm waiting for the "SoCo Theme Park" to be built. Try the Near East Side. Better vibe.

“Love the shopping in SCO”
Reviewed 4 November 2013

Great place for walking around. Upscale boot stores and eclectic retail shops as well as iconic Austin food trucks. I enjoyed shopping @ Creatures Boutique and picked up a necklace by a local Austin designer & bee keeper, Anna Gieselman and her "Bee Amour" collection. Her designs incorporate honey combs and semi precious stones the color of honey. Employee was very friendly and helpful in this store.

“What happened, Austin?”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

Once upon a time you could park on SoCo or find parking within a few blocks and there was a big food truck court. Now the food truck court is a poor excuse for a parking lot and there is insufficient parking throughout the area but tons of signs about getting tickets. This was once one of my favorite things about Austin. So sad.
