“HIghly recommend!”

We bought a LivingSocial deal for this hotel for one night. I wish we had more time there!. The decor is really cool - retro/Texas/industrial - with an aqua Steg fridge in the room, retro tiles in the bath and a cool 50's sofa. Loved our room. There is a great bar on site with appetizers, patio and live music on weekends. They serve a "continental" breakfast until 11am in the bar but it is pretty comprehensive, with gravy and biscuits, bacon, kolaches, cereal, boiled eggs, etc. All of the rooms look out into a courtyard, landscaped in zeriscape with a small pool at one end - in front of the bar. The smoker under the large pergola in the center of the courtyard makes the entire place smell of smoked meats - which are served in the bar menu. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great location - easy to get to and easy to get downtown. A great experience!

Room Tip: If you need peace and quiet before midnight ask to be placed away from the pool/bar area.

We stayed here for a sorority weekend knowing that we would have to commute to do anything campus related. The hotel is located in the Domain which is north of downtown Austin and the UT campus so if you are planning to do anything on campus, plan on a 15-30 minute drive depending on traffic. The Domain is really just a big shopping mall with many nice stores and some nice restaurants but lacking the "Keep Austin Weird" feel. The room, which has an endearing "retro" feel to it, is very nice with a comfortable bed. All rooms look out onto a courtyard which is reminiscent of West Texas. The included breakfast was average for a hotel breakfast. Overall we enjoyed staying at the hotel and would stay there again.

This is not your typical hotel! This brand-new hotel is retro without being kitschy. The grounds are pretty, there's a fire in the fire pit with chairs around it every night. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Beds are very comfortable (great pillows too). The breakfast is included and has enough variety to satisfy everyone.

There are a few things I would add to this hotel: a hot tub for Texas evenings, regular doors into the bathrooms (they're sliding doors), tubs in the room, and an additional trashcan by the desk.

The surrounding area is mostly apartment buildings and an outdoor mall. It's approximately 30 minutes from the airport (taxi was $50+ tip) and 20 minutes to downtown.

I would recommend staying at Lone Star Court.

Room Tip: Apparently the bar can get loud. We asked for a room at the far side of the hotel. It was fine.

It's nice to stay somewhere that is not your average boring hotel, this place is retro, colorful, and has a cool Texas western feel to it. I bought a groupon and stayed here for almost half the regular price so it was a great value! However, I would probably not pay full price because it is quite expensive.

Worst thing about moving to the domain is not being able to justify staying here. I enjoy the vibe of the property. The room layouts are great and the decor is wonderful. The rocking chairs on the porches are great and the minibar refrigerators have most everything you need. Only minus would be the lack of bathtubs in many rooms.

The rustic concept/decor of the hotel is really neat. I've stayed here twice and really enjoyed it. The only negative I have about this hotel is the pool size. It is WAY to small and there aren't enough lounge chairs.

Spent the night at this place and was pleasantly surprised! Brand new and located in the Shopping area of "The Domain" in Austin. Plenty of good restaurants in the area and a very comfortable spot to sit out and enjoy the pool or rocking chairs on the porch. Good breakfast and very reasonable rates for the night.
