From the moment we walked in to the hotel we were pleased with how well the staff treated us, Shaye checked us in quickly and efficiently - we were able to get up to our room and relax with ease. The room itself was spacious, clean, and we were surprised to find that we had a balcony that we actually had access to walk outside and enjoy the view, a nice vantage point to see some of the Austin city scape. Unfortunately, we had forgotten to turn off the headlights on our car the evening we stayed, and of course - our car wouldn't start the next morning, we realized this literally as we had just checked out and were attempting to load up and head home. Thankfully, Lindsey Heaney came to our rescue - she volunteered to assist us without hesitation and quickly gave us a jump and we were good to go. It's situations like these that truly define a hotel, how they treat their guests in circumstances that don't necessarily warrant them to HAVE to help - we will certainly be staying at this hotel again in the future when we travel back to Austin.

I just completed a business trip to Austin where I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel. I was impressed by the cleanliness of my room and the attentiveness of the front desk team. The hotel is located very close to the UT campus, which made it very convenient. Loved my stay.

We stayed a couple of nights here when in town for a wedding. We lived in Austin years ago and love to return for visits! We enjoyed our stay at this Hampton which is definitely an upscale one. The 6th floor room had high ceilings, upscale furnishings, good beds with luxuriously soft bed linens, upscale finishes of wood patterned tile and granite countertops. We had asked early for a east /south facing room, but were given a west facing and we couldn't open the curtains until the sun went down. The night and morning views were nice though. Different reviews mentioned the parking garage fee which we would have gladly paid, but by our 7:00 check in, there was no parking places left and we had to park on the street a block away. A bit unimpressed with that. Since meters are free on the weekend, it was not too much of a problem though, as long as there was close parking spots and there were. But we stayed over thru Monday morning and had to go down to feed the meter. A bit inconvenient. The good - parking was only $5! :) Both mornings we enjoyed the typical great Hampton breakfast buffet. All staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, we enjoyed our stay! It is near UT where my husband attended and one morning he enjoyed a run on campus. It is also near SoCo for a fun filled day of shopping and dining!

Room Tip: You may not get what you request.

Dear ArtripHer,

Thank you for the kind words on tirpadvisor. We appreciate the great score and I was happy that we exceeded your expectations. I was disappointed that we had some parking challenges at the hotel. We have overflow parking solutions around the hotel. We look forward to your next stay with us!

I have stayed at this hotel twice this year and will stay here whenever I am in Austin. The rooms are very roomy. Apparently the structure was originally designed to be executive apartments with high ceings and enormous windows. At some point the plans changed but the design elements remained.
The staff is great, from the front desk, to the breakfast staff, to housekeeping. The fitness room is clean and maintained.
If I had one minor criticism it would be the very tight underground parking garage. If you drive a large SUV be prepared to do a lot of backing up and maneuvering.

Dear CH.PA,

Thank you for your feedback on tripadvisor. I agree that we have a "gem" of a hotel in the downtown area. I was happy to read that you have stayed with us twice and that you felt our staff was great! Parking is a bit tight for large cars but just contact our desk as we have places for larger cars. Thank you for describing our well appointed rooms as we feel our rooms and hotel is second to none in the city of Austin.

We look forward to your next stay with us!

Sincerely,

Our check in was quick and painless. Room was nice and very clean. Restroom was clean. Did not notice any noise from rooms nearby. Pleased to find there was a breakfast included. Check out was also quick and easy.
