“Neat experience, no bathrooms”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

I second most of the other reviews -- serene, lots of peacocks, nice gardens, etc. I'll just add that when we were there in mid-July 2014, there were no bathrooms available, which can be problematic when visiting with children.

“Peacock Park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014

I echo the sentiment of the other reviewers. Very serene little gem in the middle of the city. When we were at Mt Bonnel the other day, we drove right by it. This time, we stopped. The park itself is small and they had a wedding in progress. But they were kind enough to let us walk by.

The real attraction is beyond doubt the peacocks. The other place I have seen so many roam freely is in St Augustine. But there are more albino pea fowls here. They can get really loud. We never saw one by the bushes and ended up scaring it and man did they all go off in tandem scaring my daughter momentarily. But that in itself was a great experience. The peacocks's colours are amazing. You can play a nice game with the kids to see how many they can find. There will be a few on the top and bottom.

There are small ponds and its a decent garden. There is a trail outside but it was too hot and we were not in an adventurous mood. But we will be back in the fall. Good place to bring visitors from out of town. Combine Mt Bonnel and the park - get them tired from climbing up and then the peacocks are definitely a sight for sore eyes. Your guests will be impressed.

“Beautiful place to walk”

Nicely hidden natural attraction. Many nice trails along the water. Very peaceful and quiet. Great place to spend an afternoon.

“Peacocks and Gardens”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2014

We took a couple hours on a very hot Austin day to visit the Peacocks, Palm Trees and Gardens. The garden plots are maintained by local residence. Some are extremely well cared for, while others seem to have been "a good idea at the time". The formal grounds, which include the cottage and water features are well maintained and the peacocks are always ready to show off for visitors. This looks like a great place for a special event and the grounds can be rented.

“Gorgeous”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014

I was looking up fun/free places to go when we went on our trip. I am glad I found this place. There are several peacocks that roam around the grounds area. Beautiful landscaping and the birds are breathtaking. There are coy and frogs in the ponds. This would be a great place for a picnic. My 6 year old loved being able to see the peacocks so close.
