“Good for the Groupon price”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2014

We had plans to visit a resort close to Austin on a Sunday, we got a Groupon deal and we decided to take advantage of it and decided to spend saturday night on this hotel.
It is a good option if you are looking just for a decent place to sleep and you get a good price deal as the Groupon. The breakfast is good. No a good option if you travel with babies, they only have one crib available in the whole building, at least we got the crib. Anyway for the price we got it was ok.
Pros
- Good to spend the night if you get a good price deal
- Breakfast is good
- Building is ok
Cons
- No a place if you are traveling with babies (only one crib available in the whole place)
- The hotel is located next to some apartment complexes
- Noisy

This hotel is a very good value. The staff is friendly and helpful, the bed is comfortable, the hotel is clean, and the breakfast is wonderful! I have stayed at more expensive places that did not offer as much.

We booked through Groupon and the deal enhanced our reason to choose this hotel. It was a great choice. The staff was accomodating and pleasant. The room could definitely be serviced by placing a fan in the bathroom!! Microwave, refrigerator and wifi made for a comfortable stay. The breakfast options were always adequate for our needs and always were inviting. Enjoyed the stay! We would stay there again. Location was fine for us because we were visiting family in another part of town. This hotel is not one to visit for the neighborhood. It is located off of the service road and at the edge of apartment housing, but served us well.

Room Tip: Room was adjacent to the wonderful breakfast dining area. Good location on first floor. Never heard...

Clean, comfy, and great staff. My place to stay in Austin now! I was late in getting my reservation for a family event, but they were great to put me in a room right next to the families. I am not a breakfast person, but if I was, I would have had it there. Cook right there to make you fresh eggs how you like it. I cannot express how helpful and friendly the staff is. The rooms are big, clean, and comfy beds. Can't go wrong here.

I was in Austin for business and stayed at this hotel for one night in July 2014. I must say I was a little cautious at first because of some of the reviews I read. Upon checking in I was greeted by friendly staff. My room was clean and very nice. I arrived just a little before scheduled check in time but was checked in right away. Apparently my room had not been stocked with towels yet. A staff member saw me going into the room and came right away with towels and made sure everything was right and in order. I understand that the hotel is undergoing some remodeling but it is a little disturbing when you walk in and see rooms with yellow tape across the doors. Overall I had a great stay and would stay here again.

Thanks for your feedback and we do apologies for the discomfort due to the yellow tape on some of the open doors rooms. We will take an extra caution and will find another way and replace the yellow tape.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Hotel

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel through Groupon, the ratings were fairly decent (3-4 stars), and since Best Western seems to have upped the ante at several of their other locations, we assumed the hotel would at least be decent.

When you first pull into the parking lot, one can immediately recognize the surrounding neighborhood is not one you would feel safe enough to walk around after the sun sets. The exterior of the hotel wasn't very pleasant; There were several stray cats running around, large, black trashbags were sitting in the corner of the parking lot on the ground, they had several stacks of roof shingles in another corner of the lot, and there was "Police" tape tied between trees and light posts. The awning of the hotel had small lightbulbs that didn't work, which is a shame because it might have added just a tad of flare to the shabby exterior.

When you walk through the shabby and oddly placed automatic doors, you walk into a burst of cold air with the thick and heavy scent of floor cleaner (couldn't really decipher between ammonia and Pine-Sol). The lobby, despite the scent, was large and clean feeling, aside from the unmatched and unwelcoming furniture that was placed everywhere. The couch and chairs were faded and dusty looking, and had no touch of any kind of decorator. It seemed like they purchased random furniture from garage sales and put them in the lobby.

The concierge was slow-moving. We probably stood in line for 15-20 minutes before he was able to get to us, it was one man who was moving fairly quick but it appeared that the system was slow, or perhaps down. Their key-card machine looked ancient and took a while to activate cards. The man who helped us was courteous and polite, but we noticed about an hour later that he was not answering phones, which explained why nobody had picked up when I called four separate times in an hour whilst on our way there.

We went up to the room, taking the elevator to the second floor. The carpet was old and dirty looking, (though it may not actually have been dirty, it probably just looked that way because it was old), and there was more outdated and frumpy looking furnitre in the center of one of the catwalks. When you look down from the upper floors, you can see straight into the dining area and the pool, which isn't really separated from the hotel. One could jump into the shallow pool from the upper decks or the stairs, however, I would not recommend jumping more for the reason of the pool floor was disgusting and old looking. The pool floor was literally brown in several spots.

The first room was awful. We walked into a cloud of humidity. I thought maybe it was because it was a humid day and someone had the windows open (the windows of this hotel do open). We rested for a little while and then went about our business in Austin, when we returned to our room around 12am to take a shower we noticed the shower faucet was not attached to the wall, so water didn't come out of the faucet or the shower head. That was when we also noticed the gnats and mosquitoes infesting the room. We went downstairs and had to wait another twenty minutes to speak to someone because the two new gentlemen at the counter apparently only have one working computer and were busy trying to check in two couples.

When they finally got to us, we showed them the picture of the room and the faucet, with an "okay," he made two new keys for us and said "Here's your new room." And that was it. No form of any apology or anything.

As we went back upstairs to gather all of our things we noticed the carpet of the room was squishy and coming up in certain areas. We were happy to be moved to a new room one floor up.

Not that the new room was 100% better. It wasn't humid or sticky and the shower worked, but it just didn't feel very clean (aside from the beds). The tiles in the shower/bathtub were either cracked or sunken in, instead of replacing them, they were filled with caulk.

The breakfast the next morning was average. Made to order eggs and waffles, but nothing too special. The juices were flavorless, despite being from a machine, and the coffee was mediocre.

This hotel has a bit of potential, it just needs a complete update and a new interior decorator. It's in a prime location, near the highway so it's just a short ride to downtown.

My girlfriend and I just spent the night there and our first room a mildew smell and the water spout for the tub was half to were I could stick my fingers in between the spout and the wall. We then went down to the desk, told them what was going on, and he just handed us keys to a new room and didn't really say anything to us. In the second room, the tile looked like it was starting to pop out of the wall in the bathroom. Dr to this experience, we will not stay there again!
