If you are the type of person who enjoys the pleasures of years past, cares very little for television, enjoys meeting new and interesting people and have a passion for world class skiing then the Alta Peruvian Lodge if for you. When you stay at the Peruvian Lodge you step back into time and enjoy an experience of how skiing lodges used to be. You share your breakfast, lunch and dinner table with other lodge guest exchanging stories of happened on the peaks, chutes and runs of Alta. It's about the skiing and the common experience you share with others. The rooms are small and basic, the lodge is comfortable, rustic and very authentic. Steeped in over 70 years of history, the building itself has a story to tell. A place like no other, the Alta Peruvian Lodge.

Room Tip: The larger the room the better

It's all about the skiing at Atla Peruvian. The rooms are tiny, cleanliness is okay, food is decent, and prices are not cheap. But who cares! The skiing and atmosphere and people are just fantastic. Perhaps the funkiest apres ski bar and hot tub scene in North America. Peruvian makes it easy, the complete package, so you can just focus on the skiing. My first time, but I'll be going back.

Great location just steps from the chairlift. Very pleasant accommodating staff and ski rental shop in the hotel. Meals are community style, food is filling and plentiful. The hotel is a throwback to ski lodges of the 1970's and the decor is similar. Rooms are spartan, difficult to adjust room temperature, bathrooms are just that-toilet and shower. The guests are pleasant and it is all about the skiing!!

The Peruvian has a feel and culture all its own. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable without television. There is a common room with a fireplace and first class family style dinning. The large outdoor hot tub is a popular apre ski meeting place as is the bar and sauna. If you are looking to stay close to the best skiing i have found inbounds and out and dont need lots of frills then this is the place to stay. The staff is great too.

Not much I can add to the many positive reviews. I return year after year for the people and a lodge where I can safely leave my coat hanging on the back of a chair in the fireplace lounge while I go to lunch. The halls are filled with boots and the days are filled with friendly people sharing stories of their ski day and other life adventures. The rooms do not have TV which encourages skiers to gather in several large areas; many returning to ski together year after year. Dining tables are for 6 or more so unless you are a party of 6 you always have company. It is a great place to go as a single, male or female (unless you would have a problem being outnumbered possibly 15 or more to 1)! The place is clean, there is plenty of food, the showers work and have hot water and those of us who return year after year like Peruvian's "quirks".

Room Tip: For a quieter room, ask to be away from the bar. If you are in a Nordic room, ask to be farther from the bathrooms
