“Charming Inn in Arlington Vermont”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

We stayed here since we had a wedding in the area. It has three houses and our family stayed in three of the rooms in the main house. The beds were extremely comfortable. The rooms and house had wonderful decor with gas fireplaces and a sitting area in each room. The breakfasts were delicious and the dining area was also charming. The owners were very personable and the Inn also had Marley a yellow lab, and i the yard a chicken, rooster, and duck. Small children enjoyed feeding the animals pellets. Close by was the Sugar Shack store which had a small Norman Rockwell exhibit and film. We also visited Robert Todd iIncoln's house, a restored Pullman car and some outlet stores in Manchester. It is a beautiful area of Vermont to visit.

Room Tip: We stayed in "Pamela's" room and enjoyed it!

We stayed at the Arlington INN for the Inn Tours weekend. It is a trip we take every year. This is our first time staying at this inn. It was beautiful and very comfortable. Our room was great the best part was the fireplace. I turned out to be a very snowy weekend which made the expierence even more special. We had dinner there both nights and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly. Look forward to returning

Room Tip: Pamelas room had a king size bed and a sitting room with a fireplace. The bathroom tub had a jaccuzi...

We have stayed at The Arlington Inn many times and just about every season. We are always warmly greeted by the Innkeepers, Elizabeth and Eric, and their staff. Every room is always neat and comfortable. Because we often make our reservations on the spur of the moment we have had the opportunity to stay in rooms in The Main Inn, The Carriage House, and The Old Parsonage. Everyone is tastefully decorated, many with antiques and very comfortable beds. Meals are always fantastic and the wine list compliments any dinner choice you make.

We always highly recommend The Arlington Inn to any of our friends and acquaintenance who are going to Southwest Vermont.

Room Tip: Book early as the larger rooms with fireplaces and jacuzzies go first.

What a treat to escape back to the Arlington Inn. After an easy checkin and some hot cider, we were quickly settled in our favorite room (no, I won't tell you which one, it's hard enough to get into already). After dinner we lazed by the fire in the dining room soaking in the heat and the amazing meal.
The staff are exactly the right mix of helpful and unobtrusive. This is the perfect retreat to reenergize and reconnect.

Room Tip: The rooms in the building away from the road are the quietest

We've been going to the Arlington inn for the past seven years. We usually go in June and November so we get to visually experience it in two distinct ways. In Summer the gardens created by owner and Master Gardner Eric are a pleasure to wander through. There are sitting areas were you can enjoy a snack or your favorite beverage. In November the inn stands out among the stark beauty of the leafless landscape.
We have stayed in rooms in all three sections of the inn, and have found each to be clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated.Though our favorite is Gamaliel's Gable in the carriage house with its high ceilings, two sided fireplace and two person Jacuzzi tub.
Dinner in the intimate dining room is a treat especially in November in front of the log fireplace. The food is cooked to perfection by Eric,( very busy man). I don,t want to leave out Elizabeth, Eric,s wife and co owner who runs the desk and is always happy to help you anyway possible.
Breakfast is a real treat and included with room fee. The choices are hearty Vermont fare that will get you fortified for a day of hiking, canoeing, shopping the outlets in nearby Manchester or just driving and enjoying the Vermont scenery.
The owners, staff, inn dog Marley, the ducks and Penny the hen all help make the Arlington Inn a great place for a getaway to a slower, simpler time.

As soon as we arrived local hot cider and cookies were offered and this set the tone for a most enjoyable stay. The Inn comprises a fine group of historic New England buildings, owned and run by a couple (husband is the chef). Our room was spacious and private in a separate cottage with lovely old furniture and a beautiful New England quilt on the bed. We appreciated the classical music in the bar, and then a first class dinner was served in a nice room with traditional furniture. A good breakfast was served in the back room. All in all a comfortable, cultured and civilized place.

We stayed here 2 nights for a weekend wedding which was held nearby. First of all, the location was perfect for the wedding and many attracttions in the area. Secondly, the property was very appealing with gardens to walk through, fountains, a gazebo ,beautiful flowers, bird feeders, runner ducks, a rabbit , chickens and a friendly dog. I appreciated all of the love and care that obviously went into the grounds and country atmosphere..
Dinner in the tavern was first rate with a roaring fireplace to take the chill off the early autumn air. Classical music played softly in the background. Our waitress, Jessica was very cheerful and effecient. Our meal was delicious. I had the lobster pot pie, filled with large portions of lobster meat and vegetables. It was an enjoyable evening. We also had a delicious breakfast at the inn 2 mornings and were again impressed with the cheerful waitresses and the wonderful chef , who could make everything, anyway you like it! And great coffee, muffins and yogart ! While eating in the quiet breakfast room, the ducks entertained us by the window.
There are also cookies and a beverage offered during the afternoon in the lobby.
The 1800 Inn has 2 other adjacent houses; a cottage and a parsonage as well as the main house. We stayed in the Parsonage in the Justin James room on the first floor , which had a 4 poster canopied bed, a 2 person jacuzzi, TV, free wi-fi , private bath and sitting area. I spoke to Elizabeth, the owner about something that needed attention, and she graciously took note and attended to it right away.
There are so many little inns in the area....I have taken the time to do all the searching for you......why not just stay here?

Room Tip: Rooms on the rear of the buildings are quiet from street traffic. Come in late September where the...
