Went to the West Mountain Hill on a romantic weekend getaway with the world's most amazing woman. Located on the side of a hill the West Mountain Inn offers spectacular views and comfortable guest rooms.

We stayed in the Norman Rockwell room which offered a comfortable larger-than-king-size bed and nooks, with beds, for up-to three kids (or small adults). Due to the nooks, if bringing kids, I suggest the Norman Rockwell room.

We had dinner at the on-site restaurant was delicious and hearty; it is a must when staying at the inn. We were not up early enough for breakfast but went to a place in Manchester called "Up for Breakfast" which was a nice alternative.

Overall I highly recommend the West Mountain Inn and hope to have the opportunity to return soon!

Our family of four stayed for three nights in the Carl Ruggles room, plus the adjoining room for our children (ages 6 and 14). Dinner the first night was excellent and breakfast each morning was delicious. The rooms were comfortable. The staff was consistently warm and friendly. Marybeth is a gem and made our children feel so welcomed and cared for. Our six year old will not soon forget the chocolate chip pancakes with ice cream for breakfast and the warm companionship of the owner's dog. Top notch inn nestled in a beautiful corner of the world.

We arrived at The West Mountain Inn tired and needing some rest and relaxation. The inn and its staff did not disappoint us. We stayed in room #3 - the Gov. Chittendam suite. Very well appointed with room to relax and read in comfortable chairs or sit at the desk writing in my journal. Dinner was very good, and we appreciated the chef using local products as much as possible. We slept very well on the queen bed with luxury linens. The following morning after a good hearty breakfast we thoroughly enjoyed walking the inn's trails. There wasn't time to walk all 150 acres, so we hope to return to the West Mountain Inn in the spring to take on more of the trails in a different season. Good food, great service in a very relaxing, restful country inn.

Room Tip: We enjoyed room #3 - the Gov. Chittendam suite which had nice big windows with a view of the mountai...

My wife and I took a quick weekend trip out to VT just to spend some time relaxing and we stayed at the West Mountain Inn. We'd stayed once before back in July during our honeymoon and we loved the place both times! It is a comfortable place to stay in a beautiful part of the state. The rooms vary quite a bit, but we didn't spend much time in them anyhow as the sitting area downstairs is so comfortable and welcoming. It was especially nice with the cold weather outside sitting in front of the fireplace. The one downside was an abundance of kids being a little on the noisy side while playing Mario Kart. Not a big deal but it would have been nice if the staff had asked them to be a little quieter or at least move into the game room rather than the sitting area. Breakfast is amazingly delicious and more than worth the price, dinner is also very good but as it isn't really my style of food I doubt I'd do it again.

Room Tip: I personally liked the look of rooms 1,2, and 3. If you know there will be an opening however I migh...

We arrived late after a long week and slept blissfully, had a terrific breakfast and went exploring the surrounding countryside.
Saturday night's dinner was excellent as was the ambience of the living room afterwards with the fire in the woodstove.
Overall...it was a great stay!!!
