We had visited The Peppermill last year for lunch and this year decided to try dinner based on TripAdvisor reviews. The early bird special was excellent! We started with the artichoke dip and pita chips, which was one of the best dips I've ever had in a restaurant. Our starters were a house salad with a wonderful sweet basil vinaigrette and the potato soup. Both were great. Our entrees were the chef's special of lightly breaded chicken breast with a herb cream cheese filling on a bed of pasta, fresh tomatoes, and spinach. Also the fried oyster dinner. Excellent choices! For dessert we shared a milk sponge cake with raspberry topping. All for $45 as the special! Service and staff were attentive and friendly. The Peppermill is a great place to dine in Abingdon!
