We just tried this place out because we were staying across the street and we were very impressed! The food was excellent and we will definitely return in the future.

One doesn't expect to find very exciting cuisine at almost 9 o'clock in a small, new city at the end of a long day's drive. But Pita's delivered the best surprise we've ever had under this circumstances. Most notable was the Eastern Mediterranean spicing of their outstanding, I'm pretty sure home made gyros. Everything was fresh in the gyros salad we shared (easily enough food for two of us), and the preparation was unique and delicious. I'm no gourmet, but grew up eating lots of Greek food in Chicago-- this was the best gyros I've had. Plus the young lady at the counter was delightful and very funny (in a totally appropriate way). It was just the thing to cheer up two tired, hungry travelers at the end of a day crossing the Mid-South.

This is the real deal, Gyro Lovers. No frozen, freezer bag, preformed slices of tasteless mystery meat here.

This is real, genuine, perfectly seasoned lamb cut off the big ol' stump of meat slowly turning on the spit in the kitchen that you can see right behind the cash register. My mouth is a goin' to waterin' just thinkin' about it.

A very nice, pretty little lady greeted us as we came in and ordered our Gyros and informed us they come with hummus and chips which we really don't care for that much. She said we could get fries instead so we opted for the fries.

The owner then came out of the kitchen and informed us that they prepare their gyros "Greek Style" with feta cheese and Tzat-ziki sauce and asked if that's how we would like them and we said yes.

As we waited we conversed with the owner's son who asked where we were from and if we had had gyros before and so on. We told him we saw Pita's on Trip Advisor with a lot of good reviews and the mention of real gyros on a spit which you don't find too much in the south.

He said that after we had their gyros that we'd be back for more.

When they brought them out to the table half-wrapped in foil the smell was intoxicating to any true foodie.

There was a big ol' pile of meat in the pita topped with feta cheese, onions , tomatoes, cucumbers and a very healthy dose of tzat-ziki sauce nestled into a veritable mountain of fries. And it was absolutely delicious.

This is "the good stuff" my friends.

And the owner's son was right, we'll be back.

Dadgum straight, son.

We came back into town late.. here on a driving trip... we got to the restaurant at 10 mins til closing and they came through. 9 of us in total and 3 large pizzas and 5 calzones later and we're all stuffed. Great food, massive serving size, great price

Best tabouli and hummus I've had since leaving the big city! My wife and I went there during Trail Days and Wow - what a pleasant surprise. The pita dishes were excellent.
