Description: Old-school values, new-world sensibilities. Born in a barn, Blue Toad Cider honors the tradition and legacy of America’s first preferred beverage by brewing an all-natural and eminently drinkable hard cider using locally grown apples in Western New York and apples grown in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Rather than solely using European-style tart and bitter apples, Blue Toad Hard Cider uses a cider blend of three to four different apple varieties (replete with natural seasonal variation) grown in areas near Rochester, New York and Tyro, Virginia. Our production takes place at our cideries located in the Genesee Regional Market in Rochester, New York and at the base of Wintergreen Resort in Roseland, Virginia. We believe our cider is different – more authentic, more drinkable, more responsibly produced, more of an experience – than the more mass-produced ciders that may use imported concentrates. We hope you’ll treat yourself to a bottle, can or glass of our hard cider soon to savor that difference. We think you’ll be back for another.

Great beer, good food, very kid-friendly. Casual and comfortable. Close to a bunch of other breweries, wineries, and distilleries. Often good local live entertainment

Fish and Chips were good, but the workers do not promote the business very well. When the waitress asked what we wanted to drink, we had to ask for a beer/drinks menu. We later observed two other tables having to ask for the drinks menu. The waiters need to be educated that patrons might want to see what is available. Service was slow.
The most upsetting factor, however, was that the management "encouraged" smoking on the outdoor deck despite the "No Smoking" sign. Management actually placed a bucket full of sand next to three smokers. I was upset that I couldn't enjoy the fish and chips without the taste of cigarette smoke.

Great day of socializing and beer tasting hosted by Todd and Kim from The Blue Toad. 3rd annual event started with buffet breakfast, then a bus trip to three wonderful breweries followed by dinner at The Blue Toad with two bands and dancing.

We gave the staff a shock when our large group of about 20 folks piled into the place but the staff were magnificent. They pulled tables together and made every effort to make us happy despite being understaffed for our huge crowd. It was the middle of a Saturday afternoon and they were likely enjoying a quiet spell until we turned up. But they found another server and managed to bring all our food out at the same time with no errors. The food was great, i had the fish sandwich with sweet potato fires; the fish was big with beautifully crunchy batter and fresh white meat. They had a superb selection of beers, bottled and on tap.We were very pleased with our experience here. The only thing I wasn't keen on were the fried green tomatoes which were flavorless but everyone seemed very happy with their choices.

I would not say it is one of the best meals i have ever eaten but it certainly was great! The portion size and taste were great and the fish and chips wonderful. It is a treat for us to drive up and have been here many times and have never been disappointed except once when the shepherds pie which we came for had sold out! I am not sure what some of the reviews were looking for but for the price and atmosphere it gets a five for me!
