We found Pema's on route 1 and were happily surprised by the quality and variety of food. Service was great and we look forward to our next visit.

“Great food and service”
Reviewed 15 June 2013

This was recommended to us travelers by a man at the Mt. Vernon Grist Mill, and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was relaxing, the temperature was not too hot and not to chilled. The food was perfectly cooked and delicious. I wanted ravioli, but did not recognize that was what "filled pasta" was. One of my family ordered it anyway and loved it.(So did I.) The linguini and clams though was also fabulous, with perfectly cooked pasta and lots of baby clams. My daughter also thought the mushroom caps were cooked perfectly.
My only complaint was that the chairs were extremely uncomfortable. After 7 hours walking around, I wanted something softer to sit against.

“This was One Terrific Find, and very reasonable !”
Reviewed 14 June 2013

We had lunch here with our 6 YO grandson and all 3 of us enjoyed our meals. My husband had veal, the grand had a plate full of flounder, shrimp, scallops, and clams.( He ate it all ) and I had a terrific chicken breast stuffed with ham and cheese and covered in a lemon butter sauce. All had a side of spaghetti and two of us had a white sauce that was outstanding. The Salads were fresh and the bread and flavored oil were terrific. We will definitely come again when visiting DC.

“Superb Italian Cusine!”
Reviewed 11 May 2013

The Northern Italian dishes are simply exquisite and the prices are very reasonable, in fact low for the area. The service is fine and the atmosphere is acceptable, except for the lighting. But, the meals are just fantastic! Everything is fresh made and so well prepared. Extremely delicious. Can't say enough good things about the food. We highly recommend Pema’s.

“Yummy all around”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

Went here for weekday lunch with my mom who is a definite foodie. Said this is her favorite restaurant in her hometown. Couldn't argue with that. I had the tortellini and she had chicken terra mare. Both were to die for. Salad that comes with each is a small plate, basically lettuce and cucumber with o&v, but really all you need pre-meal. Iced-tea beverage was average. They also have a Sunday brunch, which runs about $19 with soda/tea/coffee, or $2 more with bloody marys. Our lunch cost for two entrees and two iced teas was $25 (~$10 entrée, $2 tea). Not many patrons but those not there were definitely missing out on a yummy meal. Décor old-world Italian, a little overdone, but once you take a bite of your entrée, nothing else matters.
