Very nice hotel with transportation assets right out of the door. The closeness to the Metro makes travel very easy. The hotel is very nice with a great staff. Even with 100's of school age kids there, the staff quickly got them checked in and out of the way. They obviously know how to handle big groups.

I've stayed there 10 times or so for business meetings. I was never disappointed with their suites, large and comfortable. The indoor gallery setup can be noisy, and the many school groups staying there make it worse. On the other hand, they did fantastic soundproofing of windows facing the train track.
A very good free breakfast. The free wine and beer in the afternoon is of a paint stripper quality but hey, it is free.
How can they still charge for the Internet access is beyond me but luckily, 4G LTE is strong enough for good tethering.
Super convenient location to train, 2 stops from DCA, and 30 minutes from downtown Washington.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the elevators where large groups of teenagers sometime congregate are quieter

We stayed here with the family while attending a family wedding. The location was a bit further from the action, but that was fine. Spacious rooms and good amenities. Cooked to order breakfast for all, with a common 6 story atrium and glass front elevators. This was perfect for our needs.

My wife and I stayed at the Embassy Suites in Alexandria, VA over Memorial Day weekend and we just arrived home. We had a great stay and enjoyed every aspect of our stay to include the room, staff, happy hour and the breakfast. The Bartenders were great especially Oriana and Jose. The Metro is right across the street and we enjoyed walking down King St. last night and before we left this morning. Thank you all very much for making our 20th Wedding Anniversary special.

This Embassy Suites hotel, though large and bustling, is a surprisingly quiet refuge from DC, while still DC-close. The across the street proximity to the Metro, taxis and King Street Trolley is a transportation godsend. When the trolley isnt running, the Embassy Suites van will ferry you to your chosen location. The breakfast and cocktail hour were pretty much standard ES fare, but it was plentiful and served in spacious atrium fashion. The value for the rooms when compared to DC prices is the way to go, as a simple fare card or by the trip Metro ride cost gets you into the city in a jiffy. proximity to Arlington and Mount Vernon is an added plus. We especially enjoyed being able to come back to Alexandria in the evening after a full day of touring to eat in a local restaurant, stroll or ride the trolley into Old Town, and see the varied sights of Alexandria. While travelling with a large group for business, we were checked in promptly, and received great service. Though a populated atrium can stir up quite a din, the rooms are very quiet, and the ES sitting room area ( with pull out that you can get added mattress padding for) is a great place to bunk children in your party.

Room Tip: If view is important, ask for a room facing the George Washington Masonic Temple

We booked and stayed at the ES Old Town Alexandria on the recommendation of several friends and family members who've been there. The hotel is right next to the King St. train station on the yellow and blue lines, D.C. Metro system. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is great, pre-made food as well as eggs to order and grill items (if you don't mind a little wait). There's all kinds of bread, fresh fruit, cereal and juices as well. The hosted cocktail hour from 5:30-7:30pm is worth it as well. Service throughout the hotel was very good. The hotel was very clean.

We only had a couple of minor issues- 1. No windows in the room that open to let in fresh air. 2. Our door looked like someone had tried to kick it in. 3. No shuttle service to Regan/Washington airport. Again, nothing that would prevent us from staying there again in the future.

Shuttle drivers would take us just about anywhere we wanted to go in Alexandria (within reason of course) and even waited while we did a bit of shopping at the local CVS store.

There's a Whole Foods grocery store just behind the hotel on Duke Street- very convenient to get some snacks, drinks, and such to stock the fridge.

As mentioned before, the hotel is just across the street from the Metro station which made getting to and around D.C. very simple.

Room Tip: Far from the elevators as possible. They are very busy if the hotel is crowded

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and that you were able to avail yourself of our amenities. I appreciate that you were introduced to our hotel from family and friends that have also stayed with us. I am concerned that the exterior door was damaged and will locate and have fixed immediately. I look forward to your return should travels bring you back to the DC area. Best Regards…MaryAnne Russell General Manager
