Old Town is a great area to shop or dine in & if you venture off King Street (I highly recomend) you wil also get a bit of history. Clean, safe, friendly town, made for a great weekend get away & super close to DC, don't miss!!

It is full of things to do and very quaint. I love the trolley, and it has easy access to DC! There really isn't anything I don't like about the neighborhood!

The area offers the perfect blend of old world charm and history with modern shopping and dining conveniences and experiences. We had a blast staying in the area exploring all the cultural, culinary and historical wonders. Look forward to coming back.

Old Town Alexandria is a quaint lovely section of Alexandria Va. The brick lined sidewalks of shop and restaurant filled King St. give a quaint feel to a city so close to Washington D.C. The King St. Metro makes it easy to hop on the Metro and go to other locations in VA. MD. and DC. A trolley runs along King St. if you can't or would rather not walk or if the weather isn't cooperating. Walk to the waterfront and enjoy dinner along the water at the Chart House or have a trendy cup of Starbucks coffee located in one of the historic buildings that Old Town is famous for. This is such a lovely area with great local shops and restaurants. All within proximity to Washington DC.

Old Town Alexandria is an Old Historic district near the waterfront of the Potomac River offering tons of wonderful shops, boutiques, antiques, shops, The Torpedo Factory, hotels, restaurants, daily water taxi service, train station and even a trolley to escort you around town.
There is a Visitor's Center located on the waterfront at King Street with helpful and friendly staff to supply you with various brochures for hotels, restaurants or local attractions in the area or DC.
There are restrooms available at the Center.
There was a Farmer's Market in the downtown square until noon the Saturday we were there.
There are numerous waterfront restaurants to enjoy and the Waterfront Park is close by at the end of Duke Street near the waterfront.
Be sure and walk up the cobbled-stone streets of Duke Street which is 2 blocks over from King Street and look at the beautiful townhouses.
There is public parking at the Torpedo Factory but can be a bit expensive for short-term parking. We found out it costs $11.00 for only 1 hour 13 minutes!
