“Delicious rack of lamb”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 October 2013

We stopped in on a Friday night before catching a movie. As an appetizer we ordered a beef dish that resembled flattened meatballs in a marinara sauce. The meet was delicious wrapped in pita bread and dipped in the tomato sauce.

My husband order the Beef Shawarma and I ordered the Rack of Lamb. Both dishes were full of flavor and a generous portion without going overboard. The entrees came with rice that was savory as if cooked in chicken broth.

The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, the meal was delicious and we will return here the next time we have a hankering for some Lebanese food.

“Great Lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2013

Great lunch and excellent service. We had two entrees for lunch, one consisting of three choices of salads, i.e. hummus, baba, etc. Each was terrific. The other was a chicken pita with pickled turnip (fantastic addition) and other vegetables. A shared order of nice and crispy french fries and we were set for the day.

Clearly not your run of the mill pita joints. This is a full service restaurant, nicely decorated and with a nice layout. Highly recommend to anyone liking Middle Eastern, Mediterranean food.

“great mediterranean food in an excellent location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2013

I am anyway crazy about mediterranean food and try in most of the cities I visit. This was one of the better restaurant I have been too. Location is great and the restaurant has a nice decor. Most of the dishes we ordered tasted great and service was excellent.

“Don't miss this restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 September 2013

Several years ago, my husband and I ate lunch at the Pita House's old location, and were blown away. So when planning an anniversary trip to Alexandria for Labor Day Weekend 2013, we were really pleased to learn that the Pita House was still around, but had a new location on King Street. The new location is really great, easy to find and get to, clean and modern looking. We decided to skip the free hotel breakfast at our hotel, and wait until Pita House opened at 11am on Sunday to basically have a Lebanese brunch. Well worth it! We were the first customers of the day, so we were seated at a window-front table, which offered a great street view, and was nicely shaded by an old beautiful tree. For people who use the free trolly, there is a trolly stop right in front of the restaurant, so it's easy to get to for walkers and trolly-goers alike. We started with a round of Turkish Coffees, which takes special preparation and knowledge of correct technique to make. Our server clearly knew his stuff. Not only was it prepared perfectly, but he explained it well as he served it to us. The aroma was intoxicating! Our appetizer was the Fool d'Hommos, which was perfect hummus topped with a fresh chickpea, lima bean, tomato and fresh herb topping. Served with warm, thin pita bread, and absolutely to die for. My husband's main dish was the falafel wrap, and mine the chicken shawarma wrap. Both of our wraps had similar ingredients, including delicious pickled turnips, but they had very different tastes (both delicious). For dessert, we shared the Koshta, an Arabic cream topped with honey, rose water, bananas and pistachios. YUMMY. We had a great server who knew the menu and ingredients very well, and provided excellent service. And on a side note, the women's bathroom was beautiful! Decorated nicely and smelled really good! We also ate at another Lebanese restaurant on King street during the same weekend, Pita House was much better on all accounts.

“Try something new!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 September 2013

When we travel, we like to try new foods. Although we couldn't pronounce everything, we enjoyed all the selections. Try the 3 or 5 choice platter to sample. Service was fantastic.
