We were tired of driving (US 29) and got off at the Amherst, VA / Business 29 exit... and saw this Hardee's location. Not normally a big fan of fast-food, my family was very pleased with this particular establishment! We had been driving all morning (3+ hours) and stopped in at about 11:00 am.
As we walked in the front door, one could sense a successful restaurant. The aromas (from breakfast and Lunch start-up) were swirling, servers were bussing tables (from a busy breakfast), and the cheerful behind-the-counter workers were quick to say "Hello! Good morning!"
They offered us both breakfast and lunch menus - which we thought was a nice gesture. I got a steaming hot 1/3rd lb. Mushroom & Swiss Angus Thickburger. It was savory and delicious --- a very filling and tasty sandwich.
My wife got a huge 1/3rd lb. Memphis BBQ Angus Thickburger and my daughter chose a 1/4th lb. Little Thick Cheeseburger --- and they were both extremely pleased with their choices. The Angus beef patties were quite a hit with us - as they tasted of high quality. We also got "natural cut" french fries, and they were hot and fresh... and the serve-yourself soda fountain had good choices.
The restaurant was laid out like a typical fast-food place (plenty of seating) --- but the important things were:
1) they had a 100 score,
2) the service was friendly & prompt, and
3) the rest rooms were clean.
Overall, we were very pleased with our decision to stop!
