Silverado has survived the transition of restaurants in Annandale. It has always been a staple of great food. I perfer the pork chops over the mash potato. It is a regular dinner order for me. Fajitas are very good as all the other options. But over the years I come back to the pork chops. The chips and salsa at the beginning of the meal are a good start. If you do like chips have the complimentary bread assortment. The raisin bread in fantastic. When in the area be sure to stop.

Silverado has great food (good American comfort food), great service and an efficient kitchen. The only down-side is that you cannot reserve at table in advance. You can call as head to the restaurant to get on the list -- but why not can we not reserve a table 1-2 days before?

Fajitas are wonderful but so are the salads and the burgers!

The place is huge. We were seated quickly and found everyone there to be friendly and attentive. The complimentary chips/salsa was very good. Had some good IPA beer but it was a bit on the pricey side. The chicken fajitas were awesome and very large for a lunch portion.

We went here on a Tuesday night to avoid the crowds and were seated within five minutes. We were greeted by a server in training who did a pretty good job for what was obviously her first table ever. We ordered lobster bisque and firecracker shrimp as appetizers. The firecracker shrimp arrived and was delicious-not too spicy. But I cant vouch for the lobster bisque because it never came. After about twenty minutes they told us they were all out. This was at about 6:15. Clearly they did not plan enough for what was the Tuesday special. They brought us a comped cesar salad which was fresh and tasty.

For the entrees we ordered ribs, salmon salad, fajitas and a steak and penne pasta dish that was not on the menu but is still a customer favorite. The ribs were the best I have had in a long while; tender on the inside and slightly crisp on the outside. The chicken fajitas were also delicious; sizzling when they arrived and perfectly seasoned. The salmon also had rave reviews although I did not sample it. The only complaint with the entrees was that they arrived sporadically. One, then two, then the last one within about four minutes of each other. It seemed like there was an issue with service generally. Most of our order was handled by another server who had other tables. Overall I would eat here again. And again. And again.

Thank you for taking the time to rate us on Trip Advisor. We appreciate you dining with us at Silverado and sharing your feedback! It is always our goal to exceed our guests expectations and although I am so pleased that most of the meal was enjoyable we are very sorry to have disspointed you regarding the unavailability of the Lobster Bisque and the rate of service. A manager at Silverado would like to personally speak with you about your experience. Would you consider sharing a phone number at which you can be reached?

I came here with two friends. We each enjoyed our food. But the service, while very friendly, messed up one of the entrees. We explained that one person could not have pepper because of a severe allergy. Up comes the entrée for this person with pepper smeared all over it. A big inconvenience for two of us with hot food and the third person waiting for the replacement dish.

The restaurant did give us a $10 coupon for the error. However, it is not my policy to give an above average rating to a restaurant that makes a major avoidable error.

Recently, we went to Carlyle Grand, another Great American Restaurant chain restaurant. The food has always been good in the past. This time it was terrible. A very poor quality steak prepared poorly. Also, the wrong side was brought with one of the main dishes.

Is the Great American chain slipping in its management? Complacency? Or maybe just a coincidence?
