Overall, my stay here went pretty well. Started a bit rough - we called from the airport to ask about the shuttle and the person at the desk barely let us talk and tried to tell us to call back when we were at the airport - where do you think we were calling from?? He was so in a hurry to get us off the phone that he never mentioned we would be waiting 20 minutes for a shuttle (metro would have been much faster). When we checked in, the people at the desk were nice enough, but my colleague couldn't get into her room and when she went to tell them the key didn't work, they asked her if she was sure she went to the correct room - really?

OK, beyond the service when we checked in, everything went well. The rooms are so large, and I really liked the setup of the studio king. Lots of room to relax. The food in the evening was ok, a bit thin for the size crowd, but nice enough. Breakfast was typical residence inn - eggs, sausage, muffins, cereals. Not much fruit, but otherwise normal.

The metro is 2 blocks away, and the blocks are short, so I don't think it even took 5 minutes to get to. Overall, convenient, so I might stay again, but I would hope to get a different person at check in!!

Our family stayed here for three nights while visiting D.C. April 6-9, to take in the Smithsonian Museums, Monuments/Memorials and Arlington cemetery. This was a return trip for my 10 year old som who visited in the fall with school and didn't get enough. Catching the metro from the Pentagon Station was a 3-5 minute walk and very easy. The view of the Pentagon and the Washington monument were fantastic from our room. Rooms were great....clean, comfortable and the kitchen feature came in very handy. Breakfast had many choices and there was ample room to sit. However if you wanted to take food to the room, they also accommodated that option very well. Service was top notch. Recommendations on eateries and stores were very helpful with a shuttle that would drive you to most locations throughout Arlington. The gym was one of the best I have seen for a hotel. Highly rated, Life Fitness equipment were well maintained and equipped with individual tv monitors that accommodated smart phones. They also comped ear phone if you needed them. Didn't use the pool but did watch a few kids swimming and they seemed to enjoy. We will be returning to D.C. To take on more history and will definitely stay here. Great place!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the pentagon

I am a Marriott Club member and used points for our stay - use points for four nites and get one night free. In spite of this, we were given an exceptional room. It was high enough for a beautiful view of the Washington Monument and the Pentagon, very clean and spaciously comfortable. The entire staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. The free breakfasts were very good as were the evening social hour meals M-W which were hearty enough for a dinners. Suggestion: eat early for the best selections. I appreciated having salads and veggies along with the meat. The facility provided local transportation but it was not needed as the mall and METRO are only a couple of blocks away as are several restaurants; but we did use for transport to/from the airport. We don't drive in DC but the $26 per day for parking and the fact the police were handing out tickets right and left in the area would be enough to deter us from doing so. The regular Internet service was a bit slow during peak hours but we had no problems early in the AM or late in the PM. I especially enjoyed having the free Washington Post to read on the weekends and USA Today during the week. Since the facility is near a major highway, might want to ask for a high level room if traffic noise bothers you.

Room Tip: Request a high level room facing the Pentagon.

We stayed here during a long weekend for the cherry blossom festival April 12 & 13. Room was very clean adequate for our family of 3. Hotel is very close to the Metro Station which we took over to DC. Breakfast in the morning had many choices and there should be something there for everybody. There are 2 internet choices, 1 is free & the other costs $6. We used the free service and was adequate for us. Daughter used the pool, which has a lifeguard and was clean. Fitness area was very large with 4 treadmills, 2 bikes, 2 precors with some benches & dumbbells. They charge over $20 for parking or you can park outside on the street if you can find a spot. Would recommend the hotel and we would stay here again.

Room Tip: Higher floors have a better view of Washington DC.

I'm a Marriott Platinum member, spending a lot of time in Marriott properties. This Residence Inn is above average for the brand. Very convenient location and close to the metro. Friendly, helpful staff. Parking is simple. My rooms have always been spacious and clean.

We spent here just one night, but definitely the hotel was absolutely worth it! Great value for the price. We had two rooms on the top floor, wonderful apartments. Absolutely comfortable King size bed, clean rooms and public area as well! Great and very proffessional attitude of the staff.

Well by a mistake I posted just 4 dots instead of 5. As this hotel truly deserve to be the best hotel in Arlington. What more in my previous review I also mentioned a lack of free wifi, which is not true. So I am sorry for that...and thank you for great and relaxing accommodation.

Located near the Metro and a huge shopping center, not to mention a stone's throw from the Pentagon, this hotel is an ideal place to stay for tourists and business travelers alike. We would definitely stay here again. Breakfast is included in the price and, while not rated as gourmet, is adequate with a nice variety. Other meals must be eaten out--none on premises. Food court at the nearby shopping mall is loaded with eateries.

Room Tip: Ours was located opposite the freeway side, so was as quiet as one could expect given its location i...
