“Great Shuttle Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

This hotel provides a great shuttle service to and from the Metro, as well as National Airport free of charge. The rooms are very well maintained and very quiet. This hotel is situated in an area where there are an abundance of local restaurants and not chain restaurants.

I chose this hotel as it offered 24 hour airport shuttle service. The other area hotels ran from 6am-midnight or so. My inbound flight arrived at midnight, and outbound left at 6. At $169, it was pricier than my usual stays, but not being stranded or dealing with taxis was worth it to me. I booked for Friday and Monday, and found another chain for $99 for Sat. & Sun. Later in the week, a lower rate popped up on social media, so I called. Even the reservation agent was surprised at the $50 drop on Memorial Day weekend. It was even better at $94 on Sun. and Mon. There was no availability on Sat. They booked me, then called a little and said there was no room. it was not a problem, as I still had the other reservation. The shuttle arrived at the airport 10 minutes or so after we called. Michael pointed out several buildings. Check in was easy, and when I called down the next morning, I was able to extend the stay at the $113 rate. I asked for the shuttle to take me to get the airport rental shuttle, but they drove me directly to the rental office. We spent the day apartment hunting near my daughter's new job (the purpose of the trip), and the evening wandering around the neighborhood. Parking for rental was free (unlike most area hotels), and very easy in the garage across the street. There were many restaurants and shops nearby, so we just stayed in the area on Sunday as we found an apartment. Monday we returned the car and took the Metro from the airport to DC. We were told to return to Pentagon City station, where the shuttle got us. We then scheduled the shuttle at 4 am for a 6 am flight, though 4:30 would have fine. Room was spacious and spotless. All staff was friendly, with courteous gestures like hitting the elevator button when they see you walking down the hall. The room key did not work a few times, but it may have been the changed reservations. It was quickly fixed. We did not eat in the restaurant, as there were neighborhood choices. The hotel did offer a "Bed and Breakfast" rate, which included breakfast for 4, which was a little too "Bob&Caro&Ted&Alice" for a room with 1 king bed.The only thing not perfect is that this location is not dog friendly. My dog is trained as a service dog for me, so he was welcome. There is a wonderful dog park across from the hotel, and many dogs at the dog friendly restaurant patios surrounding the hotel. It would be a great feature, that I hope they will consider.

We just returned from a weekend visiting family in the Arlington, Va area. We were very pleased with this hotel. It is located in a lovely, easily walkable area (Shirlington), with plenty of restaurants of all varieties; a movie theater; and a community theater offering plays. It is about a 5 minute drive from downtown Arlington. The facilities were very pleasant and well taken care of. The room was large by chain hotel standards. Staff was very gracious. Complimentary valet parking is offered in a secure garage directly across the street. We plan to regularly use this hotel when we return to the Arlington area to visit our family.

this is a great area close to dc if you are planning a visit and don't want to bust the bank. great inclusives like free parking across the street in a covered garage and free wifi. the staff was very helpful printing boarding passes for my mother-in-law and really clean rooms! breakfast was a bust since it cost $62. for the four of us w/o tip. Yikes! all you care to eat but it was bland and we don't eat THAT much. right across the street is a harris teeter grocery store (garage you park in) so we went and bought bagels, juice, bacon, fruit and cream cheese for the remaining 3 days for all of us for 30$ , much better and there is a fridge and coffee/tea and microwave in room! plenty of great restaurants w/i walking distance.

Our stay was great, and we were very pleased and impressed with this hotel. First, the location in Shirlington Village is fantastic because of the many restaurants and shops within a block of the hotel. The rooms are very spacious and the beds and bedding were so comfortable providing a good night's sleep. The refrigerator in the room was appreciated, and spending a little night time on the outdoor roof top looking at the skyline was enjoyable. Perhaps the most enjoyed was the fantastic buffet breakfast. Yum. Loved the mid day cookies in the lobby too! This is a first class hotel with nice staff, and you will be glad you chose this hotel if you get the opportunity to stay there.

My family had an enjoyable stay at the Shirlington Hilton Garden Inn while touring DC last week. The Inn was clean, quiet, friendly, and located near restaurants, service stations and grocery store. The restaurant staff was friendly and keep my coffee cup full and the breakfast buffet was had all you would want.

This place is in the center of a shopping center, complete with some trendy bars, some fast food joints, a supermarket, movie theatre, etc. There is plenty to do. The rooms are great, and meet the Hilton standard. The hotel is not near a subway, but does offer shuttle service to the subway. The shuttle leaves on the hour, so that should be part of your planning if you were going here on business. All in all a great experience, as is expected with Hilton.
