“Best Hotel Staff ... Ever.”
Reviewed 11 January 2014 via mobile

I visited this hotel with two children, while my husband was doing business in NoVa. There are many great things to say about this hotel: 1) It is walking distance to everything (metro, restaurants, pharmacy, etc), 2) It has a delicious continental breakfast and complimentary dinner (perfect for little children, if you don't want to venture out), 3) a pool area & exercise room -- both are solidly good. But, by far, my favorite aspect of this hotel is...the staff. From the front desk, to housekeeping, to kitchen, to maintenance --everyone was incredibly kind, gracious, helpful, professional, and... happy. I would visit this hotel 100 times, just for the friendly staff. (And, b/c we are in Arlington a lot, we will be returning.) Wow, you guys really ROCK.

I chose this hotel based on the reviews on Tripadvisor for a recent two night trip to D.C. We booked directly through the hotel and opted to prepay to save some $$. My husband and I were not disappointed with our choice. The hotel felt very secure (use of room key in elevator), it was clean, and the room was quiet. The room was spacious with lots of nice amenities and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast buffet was nice with a lot of choices to keep us filled up till lunch.
Restaurants and shopping were within walking distance...lots in the Clarendon area!!!! This hotel is a very short walk away from a Metro station, maybe a three minute walk! The orange line of the Metro is about a ten/fifteen minute ride into the city!
I think I have found a new hotel for D.C. trips!!!!

We had the sincere pleasure of staying here for four nights over the Christmas holidays. We had excellent service, it's a fantastic location, and we can't imagine having picked a better place.

We had been looking at the on-line prices and saw a great rate for a pre-paid 3 day stay over. But we hesitated to book because of the ice storm. The day we decided to leave we looked on-line for the same rate. Unfortunately it was no longer available. However, a call to the hotel resulted in us being transferred to the Marriott reservations hotline. They were amazing and managed to get us an even better rate than the on-line rate with no pre-booking requirements.

We debated on a suite or the studio. In the end we decided on the studio since it was cheaper. We were extremely happy with our choice, the suite probably would have been too large. Check-in was wonderful, with them asking whether we wanted a high room, low room, close or away from the elevator. The underground parking was a nice touch and at only $15 a night a bargain.

We took the Metro into town a couple of times. Very convenient once you figure out how to work the machines. We chose this hotel over the two higher ranked Residence Inns because it was walking distance to the Metro vs waiting for a shuttle. And there are plenty of restaurants within a five minute walk.

Hotel room was large, and clean, with everything we wanted. Breakfasts were typical fare, the only thing I could have wished for was bacon, but their potatoes were excellent. We ate dinner one night at the hotel. It was so-so, except for the dessert. The cheesecake that they had for dessert, spectacular! Best we've had in years. And since dinner was included in the price we couldn't complain too loudly.

The rooms were super quiet. A really nice touch was the stockings that they hung on our doors on Christmas Day filled with fruit and candy.

My favourite part of the hotel was the gentle happy voice in the elevator that told us where we were going. It made both of us smile each time we got in.

In summary, this was one of the better hotels we've ever stayed in, and for the price it just couldn't be beat.

While I stayed at this hotel for business, it's a great base from which to visit much of the DC area. It's close to the Metro, and this area of Arlington is beautiful with shopping, bars and restaurants all nearby.

As for my stay, the room was nice, and the suite cannot be beat. My room (all rooms?) had a separate bedroom (with a slightly too soft bed), a large bathroom area (in the bedroom), and a living room/workspace/kitchen area. The desk was smaller but functional. The kitchen was galley-style but had a sink, full-sized refrigerator, microwave and small stove top. And then a couch and TV in the living area. This would be a great space for a family visiting DC.

The wifi was fast and free. And the breakfast was OK, nothing special but also free.

Stay here.

Free breakfast, free dinner, free WiFi. Not to mention it's in a good location near the Orange line, near lots of restaurants, walking distance to shopping. The rooms are comfy with well equipped kitchens. There's not really anything to complain about

My wife and I stayed at this hotel over thanksgiving and again the beginning of December. We were pleased both times. The rooms are spacious. On both visits our rooms had a kitchen area. The single king size beds were comfortable. The bathrooms worked well in that the sink was in a separate alcove, so that one person could shower while the other did hair etc. The heating worked well. There was ample closet space and dresser drawer space. There was enough room lighting to work and there were plenty of electrical outlets for recharging. The wif-fi was included. The rooms had a nice flat screen LCD. Parking was extra but convenient. Breakfast was included and was very good. Coffee was available all day and was drinkable. The hotel is a quick walk to a metro stop. There are two Starbucks within easy walking distance. There is a nice shopping area within about four blocks with a Whole Foods, A Barns and Noble and an Orvis among many other stores. All of the staff we came in contact with were friendly and helpful.

This Residence Inn is the perfect option for visiting DC whether for business or pleasure. It is very easy to access the Metro to head into the District. It is easily accessible from 395 and has very well-appointed rooms. It is very affordable, and the overnight parking fee is less than half of what you would pay in the District.

But the best reason to stay here is the amazing staff. We recently had to cut short our visit due to weather, and in spite of our prepaid reservation, they were incredibly accommodating in their response to our requests.

It's a good hotel, but what makes it great is the first-class staff and service you'll receive.
