This hotel is in a very convenient location: Metro stop in front, connected to a large mall, Nordstrom Rack across the street. The hotel itself seemed more like a Sheraton than a Ritz-Carleton...very clean nice room but not memorable, good bathroom, and pleasant efficient staff. However, there was not much of a lobby, the elevator service was VERY slow even when all 3 were working, and, worst of all, we could hear people in the next room!!! And they heard us too! Aaaarrrrggghhh!

Just finished three nights here at a conference. Service was excellent. Room well appointed, but moldy, musty recycled A/C air. Of course no fresh air. Major elevator glitches. Got my workout in climbing from 11th floor.. Staff attentive and professional. Concierge made resv. In advance for Italian, fine cuisine-got out of cab- it was a Spanish restaurant!! Food was good, however.

The Ritz's location is either a plus or a minus depending on the guest. If you are in the defense industry it's excellent - near the Pentagon, hence the name, and industry contractor office buildings and Crystal city. If you prefer exploring Washington DC, its neighborhoods or walking to dinner spots it's not so good. However, keep in mind, a metro stop is literally right out the Ritz's front entrance and it is only two metro stops away from downtown DC and the National Mall. The Ritz's back entrance opens into a shopping mall. The rooms were standard Ritz - comfortable and cozy in the blue and yellow - baths were small and borderline luxury. The service was impeccable and friendly and even better than in our past stays. The doormen are awesome!!!

I live near the area and my AC was broken so I checked into the hotel for one night. The staff was so friendly, the room service was pricey (what hotels room service isn't) but it was top notch. I wanted to feel pampered since my AC at home was broken and this was the perfect escape. The bed was very comfortable. I also think that this is a great location for a family of tourists. If you do not want to stay in the city this area is clean, safe, and convenient. After a long day of sightseeing there are many casual, family friendly places to eat nearby.

I was happy to be in DC for a conference for a week at the Ritz. The rooms were average size and we really enjoyed the stay... The service at the hotel was what made the trip. The staff is so professional and attentive to every detail. The conference rooms are beautiful and the food & beverages we enjoyed for the week were amazing! Hats off to the team there... Being attached to the massive Pentagon City Mall, and having its own Metro stop in the front lobby area were just awesome perks. I really can’t say enough about the staff, from the doorman; to the shoe shiners everyone was so great. The gym and restaurant were also A+. You expect that brand name quality when at a Ritz property, and the expectation was met & exceeded. Looking forward to the next stay.

Room Tip: Rooms have views of either the Pentagon or the adjacent mall... Pentagon view is preferred.
