“We had a really good night's sleep”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2013

Spent the last 3 nights at the Sheraton National, now called the Sheraton Pentagon City, on Orme Street in Arlington. We are in DC 2 or 3 times a year and always stay there. It is convenient, and frequently they have weekend specials, although not this past weekend, since they were full for the Memorial Day Weekend, with an 800 guest Indian wedding in the house.
But, always find their accomadations and hospitality excellent, and the bed was wonderful.
Wish they had free wifi, but you can't have everything.

Dear Dave-Marilyn-15301, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your stays at the Sheraton Pentagon City. I was so pleased to read that you stay here several times a year and enjoy our great location and all that the hotel has to offer. We really appreciate your loyalty when you come to the Washington D.C. area so we can talk about the wifi when you come on your next visit as maybe we can have a chance to meet in person - I sure hope so!

Thanks again and best regards, SPCGM

Once again, CY, the evening front desk manager went out of his way to get the perfect room for me and Asmamaw keep a smile on his face as he loaded and unloaded my "rolling home". Every one in the restaurant, including Dennis, the manager made me feel welcome again. The folks at this hotel are relationship-driven. Thanks for always making me feel at home! Again three special employees made my stay seamless.

Room Tip: The city view is amazing.

Dear ANG1307, I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I was to read that our Associates have made your visits feel a bit special as that is the most important aspect of a hotel stay inj my opinion. I will make sure that CY, Amamaw & Dennis receive some special recognition for their efforts as they perform so well in creating the relationships with our Guests!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us and I hope I have an opportunity to meet you the next time you are at the hotel.

When traveling to the DC area I use to prefer to stay inside the city to cut down on travel time to meetings. Since staying at Sheraton Pentagon city a year ago I choose now to stay outside DC and forego the convenience of the city. Makes sense to me and the staff is the reason. From check in to check out and every request in between they have always been more than eager to accommodate every request. the room and facilities, including club lounge, are just what you would expect form a Sheraton. cab rides are very reasonable to the downtown. The most I paid to go down the SW side was $17 with tip but typically $11 will get you anywhere around the mall.

Room Tip: Overlooking the city is great. Another month or two before demolition of buildings next door will g...

I stayed here one night on a business trip. The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. Room and facilities are on par with a standard Sheraton hotel. Unless you are going to the Pentagon, the location isn't convenient, though the hotel does offer a shuttle bus that runs every half hour to take you to the nearby Metro stop. Henderson Hall Marine Corps support facility is only steps away, and I was awaken by the trumpet call of reveille! This hotel also seems to be the preferred location for groups. I noticed flight crews, and a couple of school groups in the lobby.

Dear SoMuchToSeeAndDo, thank you for taking the time to share your experiences while staying at the Sheraton Pentagon City. I was please to read your comments about our staff as they take a lot of pride in taking care of our Guests. Although our location is not a "city center" location, we are located only a mile or two from great restaurant, the Pentagon Mall, Crystal City, Arlington National Cemetary and only three miles to downtown D.C.

So again, thank you for your kind words and I hope we have an opportunity to serve you again in the future.

We have stayed at Sheraton Pentagon City hotel several times. Reception and hospitality staff consistently do great job. The restaurant and bar staff is wonderful. Many thanks to Dennis and the breakfast crew for attentive service every time we stay. Parking is available on site, on the street and in an open lot across from the hotel. The fitness center has been updated and accommodates more people. The "heavenly" beds are are just that. You can expect a good nights sleep. The hotel overlooks Arlington Cemetery, the Pentagon and Washington DC. Do not stay on the highway side of the hotel, ask for the great view of the city. Free shuttles are available to and from the Metro throughout the day.

Room Tip: Ask for a City view room. They over look Arlington Cemetery, the Air Force Memorial and Washington D...

Hotel is located very near the back area of the Arlington cemetery and next to a military base.  The hotel has a shuttle to/from the DCA airport and the nearest Metro stop, called Pentagon City, which is only 6 mins away from the hotel. It's a bit difficult to get to the hotel by car, so plan ahead.  Parking is available onsite or there is free street parking by the military base on S. South Gate Road.

Reception desk employees were fantastic, and room service was very efficient!  We checked in early with no problem since the room was ready.  Guest Services was the tops responding to our needs very quickly.

Basically, our room was good size with brown hues; dark wood furniture, a long dresser and medium desk.  We stayed on a Starwood Preferred Guest level and had Club Lounge (on the 14th floor) access to watch tv, a quite get-together, but it is not large enough for a big group.  Breakfast was available in the Club Lounge with eggs, bacon, potatoes, selection of breads and cereals, fruit, yogurts, Starbucks coffee (nice), and juices.  Simple, but adequate.

Scored down the hotel because our room and hallways are a bit dated and had a musty smell.  Refrigerator was available upon request; no complementary bottled  waters, no minibar, no robe, no slippers, no toothbrushes in the room and only one soap bar.  Coffee maker by the sink and shampoos.   Most wouldn't be bothered, but less than what we expected from Sheraton.  Nice King-sized bed, no couch, only a high-back chair, flat-screen on the wall, lots of drawer space, and a small closet with a safe and iron.  A/C unit was a little noisy too since each room has individual unit under the windows.

This is a high volume hotel, so it does get busy with tour groups, so ask for a quite floor because the doors are a bit noisy when closing.  The view from the room was nice since the hotel is on the top of a hill; however, would recommend a room facing away from the highway.  The lobby was big and open, but a little crowded around the elevators since there was only 3 of them for this big hotel.  The gym was ok sized, clean, free weights and running machines - just basics.  Roof top swimming pool and a sun deck, bright and clean, but we were too busy to enjoy it.

Getting a reservation months in advance left us on a waiting list for one night of four we planned to stay for our class reunion. The special rate was in question for all but the reunion weekend despite advertisements that the rate included three days before and three days after the event. Our trip required us to make back-up reservations at a second place (just-in-case), and we were not certain until the day before we traveled to Arlington that we would be able to stay in the Sheraton, where our friends were. We did not manage to get the rate we were entitled to until consulting the manager two days into our stay when we were required to "check out, and check back in" to the same room. Confused yet???....Evidently the computer system there is not user-friendly to the people behind the desk.
There is no complementary breakfast unless you pay top rack room rates. A cup of coffee in the restaurant will cost you close to $5. You might have to pay $22.50 a day for parking. Then again, you might not, as the gate remained up much of the time we were there. Wi-Fi in your room... extra. Calls to outside...extra. City Up-Rates apply! Yet the facility lacks the ambiance to justify the expense.
On the plus side...the staff is quite helpful, the shuttle to Pentagon City and Pentagon Row and the Metro Station is "free". Views from the DC side of the hotel are beautiful, especially at night. Plus, what could be better,,, you get $5 green-credit a day for NOT having your room cleaned during your stay.

Room Tip: The DC side of the hotel has better views. Ask for a refrigerator in your room if staying for a few...

Dear WhereBenhasbeen, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us during your recent stay at the Sheraton Pentagon City hotel. I apologize that you had some trouble booking your reservation as we hold as many rooms as contracted by the group. Once those rooms are reserved at that special price, than there are other rate structures that are available to book. I was pleased to here that you thought our staff was very helpful and that you enjoyed our great views of downtown Washington D.C.

Thank you again and I hope you had a great time with all of your friends at your reunion.
