“Just OK”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2014

The hotel was fine. The first room they gave us was right over the entrance and was very loud so I asked to be moved and they changed us to a nice room on the 5th floor.

No ice on each floor though. Thought that was odd.

Check in was very efficient - very friendly staff and check out was simple and quick. And we appreciated the complementary newspaper.

But .... in order to get to the non smoking part of the casino from the hotel, you either have to go outside and around or walk right through the smoking section. And it's not just a little smoky - it is VERY smoky.

Was suggested that we enjoy dinner at 13moons restaurant. I have to say it was the worst food we had on our entire trip. Both the Cioppino and the Kobe beef burger had zero flavor. How can that even be? And one of the glasses of wine was not drinkable - I think there might have been soap in the glass or something. It was such a disappointment! And the atmosphere is OK - nothing all that great. We ended up in the sports bar for something to eat.

The non-smoking part of the casino is very small but we aren't big gamblers so that was OK. But any of the activities - there was raffle - was again, smack dab in the middle of the smoking section.

I think the lesson learned was it's probably best to avoid staying here if you want to try your hand at the casino and don't want to reek of cigarette smoke.

We booked the hotel and asked for the water view. The room was very nice and so was the balcony and the view. The staff we dealt with in all areas were friendly and helpful. The pasta buffet was great and so was the breakfast. but.. we could only sleep on and off all night.. At first we thought a train was going by but it kept going on and on and on. It turned out to be a huge air intake fan located between the casino and the hotel out the back. If we had known that getting a water view meant you didn't get a good sleep, I would have picked the parking lot view. At checkout we complained and they gave us a $15 discount but that didn't seem like quite enough. From what I noticed while typing this, they are well aware of the noisy fan issue. So my advise is get a room as far away from the casino side of the hotel as you can, if you get the water side rooms.

Room Tip: Do not stay anywhere near the huge fan in the back/water view side of the building. You won't g...

Well , Swinomish has gone and done it again, if you read the reviews I was the one from January with a happy review. I am happy to review again as we got to the hotel and they said I'm sorry the hotel is full so we had to change your room from what you requested to the suite! When I inserted my key and opened the door it took my breath away full living room soaker tub what must be a 1000 sq ft bathroom and a great view. I have already booked my next stay ! Why go anywhere else if this is the way I get treated. Now if they could just do something about a jackpot win ;)

The hotel is relatively new, very nice décor, beds were nice. No tub but a nice shower. Biggest draw back: we stayed on the 5th floor facing the water had a nice view and a small balcony but the building fans/air systems were down below and it sounded alike a train rumbling ALL night long. They were sold out , we waited until 11pm to get a room so there was no other room to move to. When we complained about the noise and lack of sleep at the front desk the girl said yeah we're aware of the noise. . . . . . No offer of a discount or anything for our lack of sleep! Will not stay at this hotel EVER again!

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are quieter or be sure you are in the end rooms of each floor.

I just new this was a nice place just pulling in the parking lot, and especially walking into the lobby. The décor is inviting and fresh! The front staff was very attentive and it seemed they couldn't wait to help you. They were all smiles even with question after question.

The rooms were VERY nice and roomy....even the bathroom was huge. The rooms were very comfortable and the décor in there was very nice too. The views are nice weather you're looking at the bay, or have a room looking at the bridges and other sites which I had and I still enjoyed it. I had dinner my first night at their main restaurant (I forgot the name but it was very good) and had a great time. The chef even came out to the table to check on us. He talked about how he made it, what was in it, and check if we liked it.....very professional.

The other food areas were good as well with many different types of food and price points, you should try all of them. The sports bar was great too.

I WILL DEFINATELY BE GOING BACK!!

I should also mention that the maid service was quite excellent as well. I would sometimes interrupt them in the hallways and ask for things like towels, extra waters, coffee and other things, and they just smiled and said, "here you go....anything else?" I liked them so much, I may have over tipped them, but it was well worth it.

Room Tip: Everything is good to go.

Although we live in the area, this was our first visit to the Lodge and we were pleasantly surprised as not all casino hotels are wonderful places to stay. The lobby is attractive and the check in was friendly and efficient. Elevators are nearby and are quick units- unlike some. Lobby and hallways were spotless and well maintained ( it is a relatively new facility). The standard King room is about $100 per night and represents a decent value. The water and mountain view rooms are rather more desirable than those that face the highway, parking lot and gasoline station. The room and bath are larger than average, attractively furnished and decorated and was clean and well maintained.. The bed and linens were about average for this level of room. The internet access is complementary ( thank you) with a large flat screen TV and mountains of channels. A Keurig coffee maker, refer and safe are included. The bath has a substantial sink area and a wonderfully large shower. Toiletries and towels are about average for this type of room- nothing to rave about but adequate. The sleep quality rating is no fault of the hotel- just a heavy footed neighbor above us. The Lodge is at one end of the facility away from the noise and smoke of the casino- worked well.Complementary newspapers are at the desk. Check out was friendly and efficient as were all interactions with the staff. There are multiple restaurants on site- will review the main dining room 13 Moons separately. Gifts and goodies are distributed for almost all occasions. All in all the Swinomish Nation seems to be doing a fine job with this facility.

Room Tip: Water/ mountain side rooms are have more attractive vistas

Hubby and I stopped in for a stay on our 25th wedding anniversary, Christina at the front desk helped us and was she so amazing... She upgraded us to the most beautiful suite EVER for our anniversary and I felt like we were something special (again THANK YOU Christina for everything!) We really needed that...
