“It's alright, but don't expect too much”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2011

This is a basic hostel.

The rooms are ok. We had a room for 3, which was comfy enough for a one night stopover. It was never too noisy.

The shower facilities were not too clean and there are few of them. Plus, our room was upstairs and we had to walk downstairs all the way through the kitchen to get there.

The guy at the reception was friendly, but some of the tips he gave us where not the best. He recommended us some natural springs up in the montains, which turned out to be a spa place in a hotel quite nice for couples but not for friends and nothing natural about it.

I would go back for a stopover, but its not great.

We stayed for two nights in a double room (private) with shared bathrooms. The staff were very friendly but didn't volunteer much information, however were really great by giving us our room at 7am after a tiring bus ride. Rooms had no lockers inside, and most of the lockers were actually downstairs (all the bedrooms were upstairs). Very old and worn linen, but clean.

It is only a small hostel, however there were only 2 male and 2 female toilets, and two showers. They didn't work very well either, but plenty of hot water. You had to walk through the dining area and kitchen though to get to them! Breakfast was included - same as other hostels, as with WIFI.

They offered a pizza night on Saturday night but we had already organised food which was good because they started cooking the pizzas at 10pm (as per South America!) but one pizza came out every half hour which wasn't good for the 8 or so men who were hungry!

Overall it would be OK for a short stay, but would not recommend it for anything longer.

Oh and they had a very cute hostel dog - Paco!

Hostel had all services you would want- hot water, kitchen, free wifi etc. Staff was friendly and basic a breakfast was included. My only complaint is that the hostel charged 45-55 pesos, as opposed to the average 25-35 range I have found in the area. Actually no, my other complaint is that I almost fell off the ladder to my bunk several times because it was so unstable- be cautious!
