“Somebody stole our binoculars...”
Reviewed 11 November 2011

This has been a great hotel years ago. Fantastic location with amazing view and nice garden and pool. But unfortunately thats all about it...! The hotel should get a complete overhaul. A good maintenance is missing!! The rooms are shabby and humid. A cleaning staff exists but actually I have no idea what they are paid for if spiderwebs and dust are found all over in the room and bathroom. Attention is unremarkable apart from the drunken attendance staff in the morning. But the worst was that we got our binoculars stolen from the room...
Go here if you don´t care about the above and you just want to enjoy the location and the view. Stay away if you look for a hotel where you want to feel welcome!

The view is amazing, but it does not compensate for all of the other horrible aspects. The rooms are unkempt, drab, smelly, and generally run-down. Breakfast is meager. The management is rude and uncooperative. Our reservation was undone a day before we arrived, though a room was somehow found when we finally got there: this, only after a fight. And the cost? Try $90 a night for a family of four.

If there were no other place to stay, hey, it wouldn't be so bad. But there are some great new family-run hotels and hostels. Try walking a bit further to Sol y Luna, or to Villa Bonita, or down in Yalosa at Senda Verde. Just don't stay here.

Room Tip: Stay away!

A room with a balcony for two is now $50/night, which is far too high. If the service was good or the beds nice, maybe, but here you are paying for the legacy of what used to be the best in town.

Stayed there in september for 2 nights. The owner Marta was very rude, no smile and not helpful at all very unprofessional. The staff on the other hand was very nice and friendly. specially Kurt who explained to us where everything was. The view from the hotel was also amazing.

We went here on our four month trip around the world. We were on a budget so weren't going to spend much but this place was great for what it cost. The pool was nice and the views unbelievable. Didn't read the other reviews but for a travelers hotel this was great. We ended up staying he for three extra nights than we planned. Be sure to check out the French restaurant on the other side of town. Best food we had while in south America.

I went there with my family of 4, 2 kids 5& 10, during our 3 months around the worl trip.
I am late to write a review (was there in aug 2010) but I really wanted to post and share our experience in order to try to warn other travellers about this hotel. Bad experience overall.
Sure the pool is nice. But it's dirty and not maitain. Rooms are dirty, almost to cleaning service (in fact there is not at all). The room we were given was dirty as never seen before, bad smell, but no where else to go at a time we were exhausted, with 2 kids, so when we saw the view and the pool we thought it was a good choice. It was not.
Service was the worse ever. No management when needed, no smile,...Why are you doing this job ?!! To add to our luck, a group of students were there, finishing a language summer camp (hey ! I am og with youngsters, we all were kids at some points), but then when they were going for a crazy night party with no noise control until the end of the nigth, we started to get tired of not being able to sleep... Needed management help since kids wouldn t answer to our requests of "lowering it down a bit", but not one single hotel crew member could ever be found.
No advice on nothing, poor food, but what were we doing here !? And believe me, we can handle "rough" housing conditions...we've travelled a lot, kids are used to it as well, at that point of our trip we've had already gone through tough conditions, but here it was different.
So we left, as soon as possible, and shortened our stay to the strict minimum. Such a relief to leave that place. So, please, make those kind of people understand that someday they will get back the "benefits" of the way they (don t) care about anything.
Avoid. Anything else will be better.
Corcoico is ok, for 2 days of rest, no need to stay much more. Enough to walk and rest. People are nice. Except in this '''whatever it is supposed to be, but not a hotel !

Room Tip: Best rooms are...somewhere else than here !

The only positiv thing about this hotel is the view. The rooms are very basic, not clean. The behaviour of the owner specially the lady is awfull. We had to ask for every thing, even for toiletpaper and changing the towels. Even there is a buffet breakfast the table is usually empty for different things. Lot of insects in the rooms. They have sauna and swimming pool but it is not possible to use the sauna every day. We stayed there 3 days and i had to ask the landlady several times and at last it was possible last day. It is located on a hill far from the plaza. Very difficult to walk around even in the hotel, several steps. the internet dose not work in the room, not even all the time aroun reception
