Excelent location and staff friendly, the atmosphere is amazing with people from all over the world.
The shower could be a bit better, but as Manaus is always hot you can have a cold shower with a lot of water instead of the hot one with few water.

The staff was extremely friendly, Jose was very helpful with my (many) problems booking a flight and they really made my stay in Manaus! good location, close to the famous Teatro Amazonas, and they work with one of the best and well known tour operators in the city - Iguana Tours.

This hostel would be a lot better if they invested in some basics. It doesn't have enough lockers for all the guests in the dorms, and the breakfast is awful--I'd rather not start my day with stale cookies, and coffee that has the texture of motor oil.

Its airport transfer service is also unreliable and more expensive than a normal cab.

On the plus side, the location is great and the staff is friendly.

Given competing options that have the same price, but better ambience and food, this hostel is not a good value.

Most people staying were only there for one night but I stayed about seven all up. The front room is very nice and of a much higher standard than the rest of the hostel. The staff were nice and friendly but as with everywhere in Manaus a lot of touting going on in regards to trips into the Amazon or boats to Tabatinga or Belem; but seriously just go with the flow.
The location near the square is nice, there are plenty of bars and restaurants around. The rooms were o.k. though a bit stuffy with the humidity you get in the Amazon, the swimming pool was a mixed bag when it was clean it was good though got very dirty quickly and I was disappointed with the quality of the bathrooms.
Two computers with free internet and a tv with thousand channels where I could watch the All Blacks were a plus.
There was a definite majority of Germans if that matters to anyone.

One of the best hostels we've stayed in in terms of value for money! Rooms and bathrooms were fairly standard but the staff were so helpful, even helping us get a free lift to the airport when we left which was thorougly appreciated!

Booked a tour through the hostel too which is well worth doing due to the various discounts and promotions - also the tour was excellent!

Location is great! Literally right next to the Teatro Amazonas. All in all a great hostel! Would definitely recommend it.

I needed a place to stay after a week long tour in the Amazon jungle. I asked someone for a quality hostel with a good price and Gol Backpackers was recommended. It is a great location close to the Opera House. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was glad that they accepted credit and debit to pay for the room as well as for food and drinks that they have on site. They have a nice big flat screen tv for watching movies and playing Xbox as well as public computer for use. The internet connection wasn't the best, but at least it was free.

The hostel was very accommodating and helpful.
Room are good with plenty of room to move and lockers.
They have a nice pool, which is good with a beer at the end of a hot day in the city or after a tour that you can book through the hostel with great specials. The only down side is the mosquitoes

Room Tip: air con is nice...
