At that time we had an 11 months old baby and we spent an excellent week at Porto Seguro. The hotel is big and sort of noisy, at least in December, so if you want to relax, this is not for you. On the contrary, the hotel's beach is very calm, with very nice people always ready to help you. You just need to raise your hand and you'll get a fresh coconut! (then you have to sign, it is not all inclusive).
You can have lunch on the beach, as if you were in a restaurant, without moving from your shadow. The waitress will prepare a comfortable low table, and serve your meal there while you are sunbathing a couple of meters away from the sea. The sea is very calm, clean and with warm water, perfect for small kids.
The hotel's restaurant is very informal, perfect to go with kids. It offers a nice variety of dishes and if you need something special for your baby the waitresses will help you.
The room was big, clean, simple and comfortable, with a nice balcony facing one of the gardens, perfect for a relaxing nap. The hotel has very nice and old gardens so you find a lot of vegetation with their respective names!
There are mosquitoes, so you better be prepare and accept all the recommendations at the front desk.
The villa is small, not very neat, and definitely not my favorite, but there are several places to go around if you don’t want to spend your vacations inside the hotel. It is highly recommended to hire a beach buggy or a car and visit other beaches.
We left Porto Seguro on December 21st, when the high season was starting, after that it seems everything gets crowded.
