There is a reason this hotel is cheap, it had bad staff is dirty , broken and full of bugs. Enough said, go elsewhere.
If there is one saving grace is that its close to the pelerino squares which is worth visiting if in Salvador, especially at night, beware of pickpockets though. we were aware and still had a phone and wallet stolen, god knows how.

- service: very friendly and helpfull
- taxiservice (also pick up from airport)
- breakfast at the terrace, looking over the ocean and the old centrum/square
- location: excellent: near monuments, restaurants, bars ...
- quiet hotel

Room Tip: different types of rooms - rooms near the recepcion (at teh right side) are the best

We spent 6 days here during the Soa Joao festival 2013. The hotel is located perfectly at Praca da Se in the center of the old town of Salvador, Pelorinho.
Since springtime of 2013 there ist a new owner of the hotel and things are becoming better. No broken beds, no cucarachas! The rooms are not the most modern and bestones but o.k. Everything is clean. The spaceful lobby has a comfortable sofa, a big TV, chairs and some tables. The terasse where breakfast is served could not be better: A phantastic view over the bay of Salvador and the old town.
Cesar, the new owner, is doing everything to make your stay comfortable. If you have to decide:
+ best located at Praca da Se
+ unbeatable view from the terasse
+ good room-rates
- Standard of the rooms could be better but it´s o.k.
