The church in itself is nothing special, but the millions of ribbons tied to the gates and doors give it a colourful touch. Nice views of the city.

Though it is a Catholic church it is also related with candomble religion. Lots of people go to honor vows to the church or to leave a “fita” small ribbon tied to the fence.
Our Lord of the Good End (nosso senhor do Bomfim ) image was originally brought by a Portuguese captain to fulfill a vow in case he survived a huge storm . The church has a museum of things brought by worshippers thanking Senhor do Bonfim for His miracles

Nice and good views over Salvador, easy to reach by bus from Mercado Modelo. Quite close By bus or taxi to Sorveteria Ribeira.

Take the bus to get there as cabs can be a bit pricey. Lovely spot for photos and great views of the city. Also close to Farol da Barra - make sure to check out both.

This church is the symbol of Salvador, the capital city of the State of Bahia. So it is a "must-see" if you are around there.
It's a nice church in colonial style, the peculiar thing is the gate outside, that is covered with coloured fitas, the tissue strips that you will get everywhere in Salvador, that people attach on the gat of the church, making 3 wishes.
