This is a business Hotel, but is perfect for any traveller, I would highly recommend. Location wise, dead ‎in the center of Salvador, just near the magnificent Salvador shopping with an endless amount of ‎shops, restaurants, cinema and whatever you want and just down the road from yet another great ‎shopping center, the Iguatemi shopping center. On top of that, the Pituba area which is close by, has ‎many classy restaurants and great nightlife. However, if you want more of the classic Salvador, like ‎Pelourinho, or the beach scene at Barra, this would be a bit far.‎

The building is top class, totally new, clean, modern, up to date facilities, top quality, large rooms with ‎large balconies, though, it would have made more sense to have table and chairs, instead of large ‎empty balconies. World class Daikin air con, 2 units per room. Good shower unit, shame about the ‎bathroom, being so tiny and no space for much personal items. Large working area, very sophisticated, ‎good internet connection, all in all, if you like it modern, international style, this would be your best ‎option.‎

Breakfast, good, decent selection of foods and options, clean, classy, the same that you would expect ‎from an international 5 star hotel, however, the restaurant and room service food is quite hit and miss, ‎not consistently good and not constantly bad, but consistently non consistent.‎

Some good English speaking staff, attentive service, notwithstanding the all so common Brazilian ‎practice, of making you pay for the whole stay upfront, which is somewhat annoying, but is common.‎

In summary, a great choice of Hotel in Salvador, especially, if you are not a first time tourist or are not ‎bothered by taking a taxi into the more touristic areas, surely much cheaper, safer and more modern ‎and you definitely get much more for your buck.‎

The Mercure Salvador Boulevard is just perfect in most aspects. A new building, brand new installations, great service. Conveniently located for the business traveller. A little far away from the main tourist attractions of Salvador, but nevertheless convenient for tourists, since everything is within reach of a short/medium range taxi ride.

Room Tip: The top floors have a fantastic, panoramic view of the neighborhood.

The rooms are small, plain and smell of mildew but the view, pool and beach are worth a million. Make sure to ask for a beach view, the higher the better. Breakfast is good and the hotel is safe. It is located near the historical center so its convenient. The linens and beds are 3 star quality but the service is first rate....note that outside of the front desk little English is spoken.

Room Tip: High and oceanfront...spectacular views

Second time at this hotel. Still brand new with nice rooms. Well located between the airport and downtown. Easy access to main points and exits from Salvador. Front desk staff very good, Restaurant service to be improved. Breakfast not bad. Hotel could provide transportation from and to airport since taxi service in Salvador is really expensive with unfair rates.

We arrived at 7:00 am on an overnight bus and were thankful to be offered a room immediately : ) The location is very handy from the bus station and should take no more than 5 minutes by taxi for about 10Reals. The hotel is just a short walk from Salvador Shopping. The staff were very friendly and professional. The room was immaculate and appointed to the Mecure standard in this nearly new property.
