I stayed in this hotel from the 21/9/2013 to the 25/9/2013. It is a new hotel. The room is quite big and very comfortable. Modern and clean décor. Check-in was a bit too slow. We used their laundry services too and they were one day late to give it back to us, so ... on check out day I had to insist with them that we need our laundry back. In the end everything was all right. Bear in mind that Salvador (and Bahia in general) is renowned for its slow service - but people are invariably nice. You might not get efficient service all the time, but they always show a nice disposition towards you. In the bathroom, the shower and toilet area are separated from the sink by a sliding door, but there is no door in this area where the sink is located. Air conditioning was a bit noisy. Bear in mind that it will take you about 15 minutes on a cab ride to take you to Farol da Barra (I paid about R$ 34 reais for a taxi). For R$ 10 reais you can get a cab to take you to the shopping mall Salvador (you can go on foot too). We got a room for two for R$ 185, which I consider a very good deal, considering that the hotel is brand new and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good, lots of choices, the cook could prepare an omelette or tapioca for us. I only had to remind them to replace the bottle of hot water (the water was never warm enough). If you don't insist on being too close to the beach, I think it pays you to stay in this hotel. Mind you, it takes you about 8 minutes to get to Pituba beach by car. I would gladly stay there again.

Room Tip: Todos os quartos são bons e silenciosos. A vista dos fundos do hotel não é nada impressionante.

Just stayed one night but everything was perfect
We chose this hotel to be close from airport before going to Rio.
Nice Welcom, such a big big room, amazing room and bed, nice gym and pool in the roof top floor
Such a great b fast, we just regreted not to stay one more night
Will Côme back there for sure...
The only thing negative is that the wifi disconnect quite often..
Beside this, perfect stay

I am a frequent traveler to Salvador and I have had the displeasure of staying is some really dodgy hotels in Salvador. I have paid as much as 200 usd /night and ended up staying in horrible "boutique" hotels in Salvador.

So I researched really hard to find this hotel and I was not disappointed except for one glaring glitch.

Lets go to the positives first :-

1. Excellent/Scintillating room. Almost looks like a studio apartment. I was in the superior rate room and got one on 17th floor with a excellent view.

2. Absolutely noise free.

3. Excellent hot shower ( no bath tub). But lot of hot water and a excellent water flow.

4. Excellent flow of water in the toilet as well, and the toilet also had a small shower hose to clean yourself, in case you wished to. Its difficult to find this features in hotels in South America.

5. Excellent LCD with sharp colors. And lot of channels including free adult channels, if that is what you wish to see.

6. Excellent air conditioner making the room chilled in minutes

7. Well stocked bar with a decent price.

8. Complimentary water bottle on arrival. I love this feature in hotels. Its so important.

9. Excellent breakfast. Lots of fruits and 100's of items. Available till almost 1030 in the morning.

10. I did not go to see the gym but the hotel apparently has a good gym.

11. Polite staff everywhere .

12. No over pricing or any cheating anywhere.

13. Housekeeping was good.

14. The bathroom had a shaving mirror, for those who seek one.

15. Lots of towels/ lots of pillows.

16. Comfortable bed/ excellent sleep.

Glitches

1. Wi-fi. Absolutely horrible. It was not working anywhere in the hotel. Neither in my room, nor in public places. I mean, it worked but it would constantly lose the signal , even in public places. The room had a ethernet connection possibility but I have a macbook air and have no possibility of ethernet connection. When wi fi worked, it worked very fast though. But overall, poor connectivity.

2. The check in and check out, though absolutely polite but extremely slow. seemed to take ages!

3. Their were 3 lifts but seem to be less for the size of hotel. waiting time for the lifts was very high.

Overall, I loved this hotel. I will surely stay again here. If they could fix the wi-fi, it would be probably the best business hotel in Salvador for people on the move, like me.

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Pay for the superior room and ask for a higher floor.

Sotero hotel is located in the eastern part of Salvador, more business oriented with tall office and residential buildings. It is a brand new and modern building of approx. 20 storeys. It has a swimming pool, fitness and sauna at the top floor which gives an impressive view on the neighbourhood. There are not many tourist attractions nearby, however within the walking distance you can reach an enormous shopping mall "Salvador" (15 minutes) which has a massive food court with plenty of food options. Going in the opposite direction (15 minutes as well) you can get to the ocean cost.

We had a superior room, quite sizeable with a separate desk and a comfy armchair on the side. It was clean and well maintained.

Breakfast offered was very decent with a wide selection of food. Next to the lobby there is a bar where you can have dinner or just a drink. WiFi is provided for free. Another advantage is a price which is very attractive if you compare it with the historical center. Staff was rather attentive and able to communicate in English.

This hotel was established in 2012 and still quite young. Thus, you can expect the best of service. Breakfast is delicious and was served from 6am-10am. Rooms were truly clean and spacious and the infinity pool was just magnificent. Just a great hotel, especially if you compare with the other beat up namely 4*-5* hotels in Salvador. Cannot go wrong here.
