Before booking looked at the reviews and was a bit apprehended but decided to have a go. When arriving the hotel it was a bit of a shock, especially coming from Morro de Sao Paolo posada de dos corales and earlier from Sheraton Salvador. The hotel is a big complex and the hotel is probably no more than three stars. First impression was disappointing. We got sea view room (not pool) and it indeed had lovely view. Asked for hammock for the balcony and got it after a while. Looks like all rooms have balcony. Lovely to lay on hammock and listen the Atlantic Ocean and waves making lovely sound. Room is good size but old. Bed is good. Bathroom is ok but would need repair and better cleaning although second day the cleaning was much better! The standard of the hotel is not the best and even lift have handrail falling off! Decor is bit 70'ies. Pool is nice size like other reviews tell and the beach is lovely. Breakfast was acceptable but no that great, nowhere close to Sheratons at 50% more expensive price!

The staff is very friendly and helpful! Cannot complain there, but only front desk speaks some English. Not massive problem as we speak Spanish so we can get by. But eg we asked about sunbeds one the beach. They said they do not have but after while we figured out that the hotel indeed has sun chairs on the beach, and free. We also asked about restaurants and they said there are none around! But after walking 400m on the beach road towards salvador center there was typical Brazilian close to road restaurant restaurante de brasa. The hotel is a bit in the middle of suburb. The hotel has buffet restaurant for dinner and a la carte Italian restaurant, which is not open on Tuesdays because the chef is off! And this is high season! The restaurants have no view, with a little better hotel design the hotel would have lovely spaces - missed opportunity.

There is a supermarket, pharmacy and cash points only one block inland, approx 300 meters. Apparently on that road there are other restaurants although we did verify it due to short time...

So staff lovely, location beachside lovely, although not even close to Morro, praia do forte or boipeba. Hotel ok, but not 5 star, staying few days ok, but not a week as there are not many facilities / restaurants around. Don't want to sound negative but you may expect a bit more... After first night though everything looks sunnier! Air con works, safe is ok. TV is a flat tv but only with Brazilian channels! Anyway continue enjoying hammock with sea breeze!

The hotel is beautiful, right on the Atlantic Ocean. The pool is great along with the beach. Food is a buffet style, a lot to choose from. Hotel lobby is open air, great sea breeze at night. Staff is great, very nice and helpful.

This hotel is a basic convention center. It is probably fine for that purpose but for someone staying her for other reasons I found it lacking.

First off, aside from the front desk staff no one speaks English. Granted, this is not the native language but English is a very common tourism language and the lack of staff that speak or even comprehend English is maddening. I could not order drinks at the bar, room service or any other service. Any time I tried to order something they would have to call the front desk, I would make my request to them and they would then relay it to the person standing right in front of me.

The guest rooms are basic. Small TV, a bathroom stocked with odd plastic bags of shampoo and lotion, a min fridge and thats about it. No in-room coffee maker. A breakfast buffet is included with the nightly rate but it was pretty basic. Other meals were also basic and bland.

Where this resort stands out is the pool. It is large and the perfect temperature. There are a fair amount of deck chairs to choose form.

The staff were not exactly friendly. It was uncommon to see anyone that worked here smile.

Long story short, if I was not staying here for work I would definitely not choose this hotel

Spacious but basic hotel room with a great balcony. I asked for a hammock and it was promptly delivered; perfect for a lazy afternoon nap or to read while swinging in the breeze. I even slept out half of one night (no mosquitoes!) Hotel has an excellent, huge pool and is located right on the beach - perfect for long beach walks to see the local activity; kiosks along the way for snacks, kite surfing, local souvenirs etc. It must be said that this is a BRAZILIAN vacation spot and therefore during the day they enjoy loud music from a DJ.outside. It made for a festive atmosphere. There is a workout facility and tennis court, but I chose the beach. It is a short walk to nearby restaurants, a grocery and local buses. There is a private but inexpensive shuttle thats operates into town and back. I definitely recommend going in to explore the old town. Breakfast with a HUGE selection, including omelettes and manioc tortillas done to order is served in an open air restaurant on the pool level where there are several restaurants and snack bars. The lobby is spacious with TVs where sporting events were often being viewed, and a very nice bar. The staff was exceptionally friendly and eager to help.

This hotel is very far from what is advertised on their web site.
Hotel has not any "personality". Room are functional but there is no any decoration. I preferred to stay rather out ... but ... who in the clear mind would built "grand resort hotel" on the worst part of the beach? The are razor sharp rocks, strong undertow and big waves.
Only positive point of my three day stay was the lobby bar. Personnel working there was very polite, speaking good English and preparing delicious juices.

Room Tip: Get the room that faces parking lot. It is much ore quiet.
