Nice and good service.
Bedroom very confortable. calm, with own terrace. We would comme back. Very good service with the manager Jay always helpful.
Only problem all over Brasil, nobody speaks english or spanish or french. Only portuguese, even in a 4-5-6 star hotel. Amazing and tiring.

Room Tip: éviter la chambre au dessus de la cuisine et le long du chemin

We initially booked another pousada only to find when we arrived that it was not in Jeri at all but several kilometres back up the road. Not wanting to face the trip back we found Maxitalia on the internet and booked it about 20mins before turning up on the door. This caused a bit of confusion as the host had not received the booking so there was uncertainty about whether the room had been paid for. The confusion was exacerbated by the fact the host did not speak English and we very limited Portuguese. But despite that the host was incredibly helpful and understanding even allowing us to stay one night in their best room when we said we were unhappy with the first room they gave us. We eventually settled on a lovely upstairs room with a balcony overlooking the pool. The pousada is well located a couple of streets away from the centre of town. We were there in the off season (mid-February) so had the place almost to ourselves. The rooms are small but not cramped but are a little dark and only cold water in the shower. The breakfasts were very good – cereal, bread, cakes, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and eggs to order.

Room Tip: The standard rooms are tiny and at the back with no view. Get a deluxe as a minimum.

We stayed here in March 2013, the rooms are spacious, all with a little patio area with a hammock and tables and chairs, the bathroom is also nice.
In general our room was clean, but every time we came back from a day out we got hit with this musky smell of wet towels even though the room had been serviced, we did search for the smell numerous times but couldn't locate it, it didn't really bother us that much.
The pool is lovely, and the gardens are beautifully maintained.
The main receptionist was a bit dopey, and generally seemed uninterested in helping us.

I stayed here with my girlfriend in June 2012. We first only wanted to stay for two nights but ended up with 5 nights. Not only because of the hotel but Jeri in general was really relaxing and a great way of finishing a 5 week vacation in Brazil.

We ended up in Maxitalia by accident and we did not regret it. The room by the pool on the ground floor was rather small but clean and the AC worked perfectly. We stayed outside most of the time anyway. It is very quiet also during daytime. The little porches and hamocks are perfect to relax and the small pool is nice to have.

Jeri is rather pricy and so is Maxitalia. Breakfast was good and sufficient. The new owner pair had alot of work but were mostly friendly and while we did not have enough cash it was no problem to drive us to the local creditcard place to get it all figured out.

It is not right next to the sea but still within a short walking distance to the town center with loads of good restaurants and bars and the beach.

I would come here again!

Room Tip: The rooms right next to the pool are biger but sometimes noisier due to the pool side. It's stil...

Friendly, cozy pousada just 10 minutes walk from the sea.... on "sand" streets!!!!
PROS: (1) friendly, family atmosphere (max, leticia and antonio are super!!!) (2) relaxing pousada with nice cozy architecture and nice garden where u can relax after a day of windsurfing (3) 20 rooms only (4) silence (5) super good food especially the fresh fish ( ask for the "chevice") (6) clean, simple rooms (7) some good wine available (very rare to find in jeri) (8) hammoks in some rooms (different kinds so don't get upset if u see some u like better)
CONTRAS : not much really ...
(1) room 19 (where we stayed) has no wind through so is a little hot at evening (but majority of rooms have wind through from my understanding....)
(2) some slow wi fi connection in peak time ... (but remember it is free and u r in jericoacoara ... relax, de-touch from modern world, enjoy the wind, the sun and the windsurf...)
(3) the pool is a “relaxing”-pool not a “swimming”-pool but again u r just 10 min walk away from the best sea water in the world....move your a** to the beach...the sea water is super nice and super warm !!!!! u don t need a swimming pool!!!...
Enjoy Jericoacoara, u'll love it

My friend and I just finished a two week stay at the Pousada Maxitalia.

We originally only planned to stay two nights because the internet showed limited Jeri hotel availability and one of the most prominent TripAdvisor reviews of the Pousada Maxitalia was very negative. After switching hotels for our third night stay, we decided to return to the Pousada Maxitalia for the remainder of our stay.

Our room (#4) was large, with three beds, a flat panel TV, a refrigerator and a safe. Internet was included with the room. We had a couch and hammock right outside of our door, next to the pool. The hotel is a 3 minute walk to the town center and 5 minute walk to the beach.

Room facts aside, we had a wonderful stay. The proprietors (Max/Letizia) and his staff (Ge, Antonio, others) welcomed us as family. They spoke good english. They invited us to join them at their dinner table. They oriented us to the village and its events. They helped us coordinate activities and transportation. They were a tremendous help--and helped make our first visit to Brazil/Jeri wonderful.

The Maxitalia's layout made it easy to meet other guests. We enjoyed many meals and activities with the other guests. The other guests were from all around the world--Italy, France, Switzerland, Brazil, UK. Many languages were spoken. Though we couldn't speak portuguese or other languages, enough english was spoken to understand each other comfortably.

We highly recommend the Pousada Maxitalia.

We stayed in Pousada Maxitalia 3 days. It is expensive, the room was dirty and we found several bugs. It is also far from the sea. We do not recommend this place.
