“Nice Hotel, Bring Money for Food...”
Reviewed 14 November 2013

I've stayed here two years in a row now for Kitsune Kon.
Its a very nice hotel, dont get me wrong.
But there's not much for food.
Unless you like bars...
Besides the bars there's a Starbucks inside the hotel, a Subway across the street, a (very good) Pizza place up the street, and a small convenience store inside the hotel that sells very little 'food'.

We appreciate your feedback regarding our the food and beverage offerings at our hotel. We regret to hear that with 5 restaurant / lounge outlets in our hotel and countless restaurants in the downtown area that we were not able to meet your needs. During your convention (8 months ago) we also set up a concession stand to offer fast food at a lower cost, it is disheartening to hear this didn't meet your needs either. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact me at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel, ext. 1655.

Recently, my partner was a speaker at an adult literacy conference at this hotel. While the outside of the building seemed a bit on the dated side (think mid 80's design), the staff and the rooms were warm and welcoming. The gentleman at the concierge desk, Michael, was very helpful in letting us know where to eat, he explained your downtown, he recommended that we see the Trout Art museum's Katherine Hepburn exhibit, a wonderful route to take a walk and places to go that were LGBT friendly. He was most gracious with his help and time. Thank you for all the wonderful help. If you are looking to have a warm and welcoming stay for business or pleasure, I would suggest the Paper Valley in Appleton.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the south side of the hotel overlooking the park. Lovely views.

Nice Hotel. It was walking distance to restraunts and bars. The Hotel had a great Sunday morning brunch. We stayed Saturday night for a Sunday game. The drive was very easy to Lambeau field on Sunday, it took about 15 minutes. The Hotels in Green Bay required a 2 night stay and the Hotel prices in Green Bay are doubled during football weekends. This Hotel did not require a 2 night stay and didn't double the price of the room. Would stay again. :)

The staff here are fantastic! They're friendly and go out their way to help you run a smooth, seamless, event. I just coordinated an event for over 200 people and I didn't receive a single complaint from an attendee about the food, hotel, or service other than of course the room is too cold. However, I always ask for a cooler room to keep them awake. Definately booking them again!

Appleton is a small town in the middle of nowhere ....and this hotel has the advantage that it contains everything you need on the premises. We ate at the steak restaurant and although we generally aren't keen on hotel based restaurants, we were pleasantly surprised - although you might need to reserve .....we arrived at 5.45 and were told we would have to wait till 7 for a table or eat at the bar . Our room, in the upgraded business section was modern and comfortable and reasonably clean. In short, an ok place in a remote location.

We visited one weekend during Appleton's Oktoberfest and from the moment we walked into the chaos of the celebration, until we departed, the staff treated us impeccably, were humorous yet efficient!

I've stayed at the Paper Valley before many times for personal and business travel and have no complaints in terms of the quality of the rooms or service but with this particular stay, Andrea and Jen at the front desk went above and beyond by their pleasant demeanor, efficiency in checking us in yet remaining upbeat when quite frankly, everyone around them was rather obnoxious.

Can't wait to visit again!

Over the years, I’ve attended a conference at this hotel at least seven times. Time after time, I’ve been delighted with the friendly, competent staff. They happily go out of their way to accommodate guests. This year, the airline lost my luggage. The staff did a terrific job of taking care of me! They gave me toiletries, located a phone charger for me, checked regularly on the status of my luggage, and drove me to the mall so I could buy some clothes. Everyone was super, but Andrea at the registration desk and Nate of the bell staff were especially great. When I returned to my room after my shopping trip, there was a “to cheer you” note and…a giant piece of chocolate cake from Andrea and Nate! Now how’s that for “service?” Definitely above and beyond!! I look forward to next year. Maybe I’ll leave my suitcase at home.

Room Tip: There are Inside and outside windows. I always prefer windows that look outside.
