Worth the climb more than 200 steps. but be sure to go with a local guide. The location is far from the traditional attractions of Rio de Janeiro.

Many people will take the long drive to the top just for the outstanding views of the beautiful port city of Vitoria. But for many others, it is an outstanding spiritual experience, for it is an active Catholic Church and shrine. I believe that the best experience is not just to go and take pictures, but to stop for a few minutes to contemplate and pray, whatever your beliefs are.

If you are in the area, - You must visit this place. Even as a non-religious person, I found it fascinating, its from the 1500's originally, and the views are amazing. Its so full of history!

A Nice place to know a little bit more about brazilian history.
The view from Vila Velha and Vitória is wonderful.
Pros:
Nice view

Cons:
The parking lot is small and on the weekends it's crowded.

A highlight for a short visit. The views are incredible and the attraction itself is beautifully maintained. The inside of the monastery has many paintings and the chapel is small but imposing. A small snack restaurant and two lovely gift shops makes for a great outing.
