“Once great, now dated”
Reviewed 26 April 2013 via mobile

Stayed there for a short trip, and, despite being my first time in Vitória, I could notice this Hotel must have been the best in town when built, 20-some years ago, but now is decent, but dated.

Old TV and air conditioning, out-of-fashion furniture, small bathroom and unecessarily big living room.

Otherwise, the staff is attentive and location is great: seafront, fine neighborhood, close to the airport.

This hotel is a little tired with old fittings and could really do with an update, some of the air con units are barely hanging in there. The best thing about this hotel is the wifi which I found reliable and its location right in front of the beach. The hotel is mostly frequented by airline / helicopter crews and people involved in offshore industry so it caters for mostly short stays. The food is ediable thats about the best description, I normally eat out when I stay here. The breakfast is standard buffet style. The staff are friendly and really helpfull. Most rooms don´t have balconies so if you get one thats a plus.
Stay here if the price is right if not there are better places close by

I was only staying here for 3 nights, and that's probably the longest I would have wanted to stay for.
The hotel itself feels quite dated, they same can be said for the rooms. I was lucky enough to have a balcony room on the top floor, so the view each morning was exceptional.
The staff were helpful and check in and check out was easy and effortless.
I was told there are better locations to stay in Vitoria, but for me it was good. Easy to get to/from the airport, and some nice restaurants within walking distance from the hotel.

So nothing to write home about, but nice enough for a short stay.

i stayed here for one night. First in standard room but upgraded to an appartman since no internet available in the former room.
Advantages: nice place for running in the morning: cross the street your and you are on the beach. Fair internet connection depending on room location.

Cons: terrible room with 80's style. Old tv, old furnitures, definitively not good value for money. Hotelfcilities was catastrophic, no fitness, swimming pool closed. I changed hotel after the first night, therr are many other option for the same price in the city.

Front desk staff all speak English with varying levels of proficiency. Check-in / out very efficient and courteous. Excellent internet service and good selection of English TV channels....news (CNN, BBC) HBO, ESPN, Discovery, NatGeo. Beautiful! Had a room with balcony on south side of building so could see beach cross the road but was not exposed to direct traffic noise from the always busy beachfront parkway. Was over looking a recreational sportsplex which provided a good deal of entertainment watching the VERY accomplished "wiggle boarders" showing their stuff on the tennis courts at night...they even played soccer on their boards...pretty astounding.

Hotel has a restaurant onsite with friendly staff and a smallish but good menu..service was first rate. All in all, the hotel met my expectations as a foreign business traveller. The hotel is close to a 24 hour gas station (5 minutes walking maximum) that sells all of life's necessities...beer, aspirin, smokes, junk food, prepared sandwiches and Brasilian savouries. Directly across the road is Camburi beach which is a typical Brasilian beach scene...volleyball nets, snack huts, ice cream vendors, coconut juice sellers, beer stands...they've got it all covered. They also have underground valet parking which is great if you're running around in a rental car. When I returned home, I emailed the hotel to ask them if I had left my Kindle behind in my room and they replied withing 24 hours. Very good people.

Room Tip: Beach facing rooms don't have balconies. Get a south facing room with balcony that still allows...

If you judge this hotel by its parts, it would have trouble getting 2 stars. It is expensive for what and where it is; it is on the beach and well placed for the airport, but not otherwise particularly close to anything (5 mins in a taxi or 10 mins in a bus to The Triangle nightlife area. The hotel is a bit tired (and there is a lot of work going on at the moment) and like all Brazilian hotels, the tiled corridors mean every wheeled bag wakes you up with a sound like an express train being machine-gunned.

The rooms are... well, OK. The appartements are large, but sometimes not that well laid out, the other rooms are adequate, not too cramped but not spacious either. The internet connection is good. The restaurant is fine if you are there for a day or two, and monotonous if you stay longer. The minibar is a bit pricey, and although beer is not too expensive in the restaurant wine is not good value. One bad point is the noise during the summer... there are a lot of late-night party-goers who come home in splendid style at all hours. Not too great if you are working at 0600!

So, not too good, taken bit by bit; and yet, taken as a whole, I liked it. This is due to a very personable staff... unusually so for Brazil, I found. The front desk were very pleasant and helpful, the restaurant staff are friendly, and the room attendants attentive. I stayed here frequently on business, and surprised myself by getting quite comfortable.

Room Tip: Try to get one of the 'appartments'.

This hotel is very conveniently located opposite the pleasant Camburi beach, but is in dire need of modernization. The apart-hotel style is very convenient if traveling with children or longer-term stays. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful, with most speaking English if needed. In general, the hotel and rooms are rather dark and dingy, and that is only partly compensated by the great views from the front-side windows. This would have been a good choice for economy travelers, but therein lies the problem as the cost of this hotel is directly comparable to much more modern and cleaner options in the area. Overall, we felt that the value in this hotel simply was not there and opted to change after one day.
