The hotel is under refit aside that it is a good hotel with good value. Worth to enjoy the Continental breakfast specially, the cheese bread. The staff is friendly.

I can't believe this hotel makes it into the top 20 of the business hotels of a capital city. Maybe that says a lot about the hotel infrastructure of Brasilia...

The building is an old block of the odd kind of Brasilia. Although geographically the location is very central, the surroundings and immediate entrance of the hotel are ugly: basically a huge parking lot with very bad mantained patches of grass. The reception is almost outside the building and essentially there is no lobby. (I have to say that this might change in the mid run due to a redevelopment that they announce with artist's impressions in the lifts).

The rooms are really bad, I got one in the seventh floor that reminded me more of a nuns' convent than anything else. Three single beds (of the smallest kind) with foam mattresses (horrible), badly stuffed pillows, old printed bed covers and almost no space. Toiletries? A soap bar. TV? Yes, flat screen. Minibar? No, just the fridge, vending machines are in the reception area. Laundry? Well there is a laundry service but when I wanted to send a shirt to press the only form that was left was an old one half completed, try to call to the laundry service to explain my request and they didn't speak English. I did it through the reception. I asked to get it by 8 pm and I only got it at 8 am next morning. Shower? Yes but when I took one the drain couldn't cope with the water and it leaked it to the rest of the bathroom. At the end I had a pool and had to call housekeeping.

Breakfast was included but the room was packed, noisy, not nice at all. We decided to head somewhere else for breakfast as we wanted a place to sit with some colleagues to do a prep chat. We went to the Melia, just a few blocks away and this was a different world. You should consider staying there.

I felt that the pictures and information of the hotel didn't really reflect how poor this place is. We also booked a room for a colleague coming from the US and I felt really embarrassed of having put her in this place. Mercure, Melia, and others are the way to go next time.

The hotel is located near a large shopping center, with easy access to the touristic and business districts. Although I booked a room with double bed for single use, they gave me one with three single beds and informed me that they did not have availability of a room with a double bed. This minor setback did not interefere in its excellent cost-benefit relationship. The breakfast was very good and full of options for all tastes. The room was recently renovated and is within the modern European standards.

The pros - the only pro is the price, reasonable for Brasilia's standard.

The cons - despite the recent renovation, the decor is awful including cheap bed covers, fluorescent tube lighting, badly fitted power outlets. The minibar is empty. The shower is electric - no central boiler. You open the door to a small balcony, but the smell of food overwhelms the sensation of fresh air due to recent rain. The free wifi is not that free - you have an option of sluggish complimentary internet access if you are lucky enough to be in a room with a strong enough signal.

Hmm. to be fair, I must say the room is tidy and clean. But shouldn't all hotel rooms be like that?

I ended up in Brasilia in a busy day and no hotels. This hotel was a good, well priced option. It is part of a larger brand, being this the simplest of the hotels. The hotel is undergoing renovations, and expect a busy front desk and restaurant being remodelled. All rooms have already been renovated. Rooms have split airconditioning, minibar (empty), safe, desk, plasma tv, with cable tv channels and hair dryer. On the down side the linen is a bit too simple, bed not very comfortable (but acceptable) and eletric shower. All rooms have a balcony and they are large. They also offer free wi-fi. I will most likely stay there again if needed, and found it better than Ibis brand hotels. Location is good, close to everything, but like anywhere in Brasilia, walking around at night not a good idea.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor to avoid traffic noise in the morning.

A few years ago, the St.Paul Plaza was a old, disgusting hotel barely keeping itself afloat. After a renovation only in the rooms (the rest of the hotel is still in the 1970`s), become a very acceptable budget hotel.
A spacious but simple, almost Spartan room, nice split airconditioner. Huge window with a good, clear view (not in all rooms). Free wireless internet working properly. The wardrobe without drawers or closets, the plastic chairs, the empty minibar inviting you to buy drinks at the vendor machine, a lot of signs point to the the Accor’s Ibis chain direction. Breakfast buffet passably, with only few hot dishes, but free of charge. Negative points: noise in the rooms; the shabby electric shower; outside the room, somber dark corners from decades ago (not a dirty or a hazardous place, just old-fashioned). No-frills restaurant with plateful dishes at fair prices. Anyway, in a walking distance, you have the Patio Brasilia Shopping Center. Since it’s not a bustling part of the town, better not go on a walkabout when it’s dark. Staff just polite.
If you lost your flight late in the evening, or will stay for only one night, and are really short of money, this is the right place. Room rates at St. Paul Plaza costs about half as much as the best hotels in the South Hotel Sector, and it’s much better than horrible holes like Hotel das Nacoes. I spent a night here a couple of times, and probably I will be here again – in the above conditions, obviously.

Room Tip: Upper floors (avoid noise), East or TV Tower view

It has a good location and you can enjoy nice views if you stay at the highest floors. That said, the hotel is bad maintained and is a typical site of prostitution. Sometimes it is noisier inside than outside.
