If you're coming to Brasilia for the design -- and that's why you'd come other than for business -- this is the place to stay. Classic modernist design by the great architect Oscar Niemeyer. It is a rare experience to be able to stay and wander in a classic of modern design. Rooms are austere, but that's in keeping with the design philosophy; if you expect frills and frou-frou this isn't for you. Beds are firm but not hard. Public areas are sleek, in keeping with the design approach. Very good dinner in restaurant Oscar. Breakfast is the typical Brazilian buffet. Attractive pool; small fitness center. The hotel is secluded, some distance from the city center, which makes it a quiet retreat. You'd need a cab to go anywhere, but that's true of much of Brasilia.
