“Impressive”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

Well laid out museum and inexpensive.

The mineral room has an incredible selection of stones and really grabs the attention. Some of their examples of semi precious gems are stunning.

“Beautiful surprise”
Reviewed 11 September 2013

On a very historical city like Ouro Preto, it will be also very interesting taking a time to know more about the stones and gems that are much responsible for the importance and fame of the city. Even non-specialists will like this museum, organized in a very didactical way, and be surprised by the beauty of the mineral richness of the region.

Most of the museum is showing its age and will be interests only to geologists or mining geeks. The mineral exhibit us a MUST see though !

“rocks and more rocks”
Reviewed 16 July 2013

The English was lacking. There were lots of rooms and a ticket taker for each one. I got a bit of understanding about the mining industry.
