This is a wonderful place. The room was beautiful, clean, and had everything we needed. The hosts-Kelly and Mark are amazing. They are so welcoming and full of local tips. We loved the animals and Kelly's home made scones were amazing. The coffee was wonderful. Everything was perfect. We thought it was one if the best stats our family has ever had!

This was a fantastic experience for my entire family. We had the Northern Lights Loft and it was perfect for my wife, myself and my two teenage daughters. The house is immaculate, the breakfast was outstanding (for each of the two days we stayed) and our hosts, Kelly and Mark, could not have been kinder. The beds were all very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get away and relax.

My wife and I spent two nights in late May at this gorgeous bed & breakfast during our anniversary trip across the Lake Superior states. The inn was easy to find from Ashland, and is in the country where it is very quiet. The house sits back from the road along a dirt driveway, and there is a barn with horses, cows, donkeys, goats, and chickens.
The innkeepers, Mark and Kelly, are very friendly and down-to-earth people who make you feel right at home. They have a friendly dog and several cats that also seek attention. The house is huge, very clean, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated. This is probably my favorite bed & breakfast I have stayed at yet.
The breakfasts were amazing and plentiful, which included blueberry pancakes, rhino hides (amazing and so good I had seconds), different fruits and meats.
We pet and fed the donkeys, watched the sunset and stars, and felt very relaxed in the extremely large and comfortable ground room, the Bear den.
I highly recommend this bed & breakfast for the gorgeous house, friendly people, amazing food, and interactive animals.

Room Tip: The ground level floors are perfect for a couple, and are very spacious.

We've stayed there twice and really enjoyed it! Its in a beautiful setting, quiet, relaxed accommodation, perfect for family with plenty of room. Breakfast was great and hosts Kelly and Mark were wonderful. Great place for a get away or family gathering.

Room Tip: The two upstairs rooms are identical, include bath, kitchen, sitting room, loft, sleep 6, with 2 dou...

Second Wind is clean, comfortable and relaxing.
The breakfast is incredibly tasty and the conversation pleasant. Kelly and Mark are very approachable people. Don't pack any books. They have plenty of those, as well as games for you to enjoy.

This B&B made us feel refreshed the minute we walked in. Stayed in "Little Scandinavia" which was roomy and comfortable with a relaxing living room (sans TV), bedroom, bathroom and kitchen--all simply and thoughtfully decorated. My husband is 6'2" and he never had to hunch down to walk through a doorway or enjoy a nice, warm shower. What a pleasant surprise for him! All the thoughtful items tucked away for guests to discover--books, games, etc.--helped us focus on what is really important in life. We were blessed to have such a warm place to rest so close to family in Ashland. We missed out on their legendary breakfasts--an opportunity to mingle with our innkeepers and other guests--but hope to return to Second Wind for that pleasure. We were truly blessed.

We found this lovely B&B by accident and it totally made our weekend! The accommodations were lovely and the home truly welcoming. I was a little leery of staying at a Bed & Breakfast do to a past experience (which I had found a little creepy!), but this experience was just the opposite. The rooms were very clean and well decorated. The food was amazing and I enjoyed the fact you could socialize with the other guests in the Gathering Room if you wanted, or you could have a very private, romantic night with your spouse. I can't wait to go back to this location!
