View, breakfast, room service, room, boutiques, everythings are terrific!
It must be worth to only stay at the hotel, rather than visiting Foz do Iguacu.

Check in and out were made smoothly.
Breakfast is served by the pool which allowed me to spend agreable moment in the beginning of the day.

As the area is quite safe this hotel is highly recommended for women.

The hotel is lovely with views over the falls just over a lawn at the front. Because it's inside the park you can see sunset & sunrise over the falls before or after all the visitors arrive. My husband & I had the falls all to ourselves & watch the sunrise over the falls & it was magical. The hotel itself is lovely & the rooms are really nice. We got a taxi into town one night which is a bit pricey but fun. The hotel restaurant is a bit pricey but very good. Breakfast is quite magnificent. Very romantic.

The falls was our second stop on a 16-day trip to South America. We flew in to the airport from Rio and our hotel driver was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. We found the rooms to be very clean and the food to be excellent. The Brazilian-style barbecue is an excellent dinner option, but for something smaller, we found the cheese ravioli from the menu to be great as well. Each morning for breakfast, the staff was smiling and very eager to help us get situated with coffee before visiting the breakfast buffet.

Sitting by the pooldeck when not touring the falls is an excellent way to spend the day. Toucans were landing in the trees near the deck and an array of lizards and paca lingered nearby to keep us entertained. As for access to the falls, you simply walk across the street. We learned before 9am, the park paths are open to strictly guests of the hotel only. Kind of nice considering how busy the trails become later in the day.

Our only complaint was being misinformed about the bus from the park grounds back to the hotel. We grabbed the bus that comes every 10 minutes in front of the hotel to go to the aviary at the park entrance. We stayed for about two hours and had a great time. The hotel staff told us we simply needed to show our rooms keys when purchasing bus tickets for the ride back to the hotel to receive a discounted rate. At the bus ticket desk, the woman was resistant to give us two discounted tickets even though we showed her our room key; she only wanted to offer one ticket since we showed a shared key. Make sure to bring two keys to receive the proper discount for the bus back.

Dear Guest,

First of all let me thank you for taking the time to write a review about the Hotel das Cataratas. I am very pleased to see that you did enjoy our services, food, and your stay with us in a general way.

Let me apologise for the lack of information regarding the entry to the park and the bus fare. In deed, in order to get the discounted rate you need to show both key cards. I have personally spoken to our Front Desk team to assure that this kind of situation do not happens again in the future.

All of us at the Hotel das Cataratas would love to have you back as our guest on your next trip to South America, and remain at your entire disposal for anything you might need.

Sincerely yours,

Stephan Hauser Ferreira

This hotel, though expensive, has customer service nailed. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and most of them are thinking ahead as to what you might require next. Obviously, at these prices, you´re paying for the experience of the Falls, the views to which are just a 50m walk away. The hotel staff are friendly and the facilities are just excellent. At last a hotel that maintains the property well and promptly. Sheer class. The big advantage to staying here though, is that the parl opens to the public at 9am so hotel guests have between 6am (sunrise) and 9am to enjoy the majestic Falls with hardly anyone around. I was completely alone at the Devil´s Throat for an hour. Well worth the expense.

Room Tip: I received an upgrade without asking. Don´t expect rooms with views of the Falls - it´s unrealistic...

We had decided to spend the last night of our holiday in Argentina by staying at das Cataratas on the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls. After a day among the crowds on the Argentinian side it was a relief to come to the peace of Hotel das Cataratas.

The view of the Falls from the platform just below the hotel is superb, especially in the early morning with the sun on them. The great thing about staying here is that you are inside the National Park. So, you can get up at dawn, walk down to the platform and have the Falls to yourself. The park gates are opened at 9.00 but anybody not staying at the hotel can't get to the Falls much before 10.00. So, my wife and I walked down the paths towards the Devil's Throat and had the whole of the Brazilian side to ourselves for nearly an hour. This meant that we could also see the birds that the crowds inevitably chase away. It was truly magical and emotional.

The hotel itself was just what we wanted. The room was at the back - quiet, apart from the bird chatter (red-rumped casiques on their long, hanging nests are in the trees front and back; they attract toucans in the evening who are after their chicks). The bathroom was beautifully tiled and had all we needed - and none of the jungle life mentioned in a couple of earlier reports. The bed was very large and very comfortable.

All the staff we met were warm and helpful. Our flight did not leave until the evening and the people at reception readily allowed us to check out in the afternoon. The fact that the hotel seemed only half full may have helped! The swimming pool is a delight to swim in and lounge beside. The food was excellent, including the breakfast.

If we ever come back to the Falls again, we shall definitely stay here again. It was worth every penny.

Room Tip: Rooms on the Falls side, I suspect, can be noisy during the day (tourists, buses, taxis, those red-r...

Dear Guest,

In deed the "Cacique" birds have arrived about 1 month ago and they normally stay around the Hotel das Catartas till end of January. It is they breeding season, and they can really "attract some attention", specially when the Toucans are around.

Last year we where lucky enough to see some jaguar cups just near by the hotel.

It is great to hear that you took advantage of the fact of being inside the Park and went down to the Falls before the official opening hours. It is really a complete different experience to have the Falls just for yourself.

We are looking forward to having you with us again.

Sincerely yours,

Stephan Hauser Ferreira

Loved this hotel one of my favourite on our Scenic Tour we also got a bit of free time to enjoy the pool. Lots of wild life around the hotel grounds.

Rooms were fanastic and staff went the extra mile to make sure you are happy. They even tidy up your room putting clothes away in the cupboard. You were also given Havana thongs to wear to the pool also came in handy if you did the boat trip under the falls. They also had a free drying service if your clothes got wet they brought them back folded with a orchard.

Breakfast was excellent good variety. We also had the buffet one night and it was excellent. Free WiFi.

The location is to die for the falls are right outside the hotel!!!

The Hotel Das Cataratas has a unique blend of sophitication without being "stuff", it has class that will make you feel like you belong their, an amazing kitchen for all meals, and an amazing staff that knows your last name.

My wife and I spent 5 days there and loved every minute of it and did not want to leave. Everyone from the classy lady at the reception (Raffaella) to the garcon at breakfast treated us with class and a warm cordial welcome everytime we saw them. If you've considered this hotel becasue of the location to the waterfalls, which are spectaular in itself, then I can only say that this is the best place to experience Iguassu National Park and the Cataratas. As a matter of fact this hotel is the only hotel within the Iguassu National Park, with walking distance to the falls and to jungle excursions or by bus which is very easy. The best thing about all this is that once you have spent a long day hiking, bird watch, kayaking or whatever you like to do, coming back to the Hotel Das Cataratas is the reward. We can not wait to go back!!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the garden rooms which was a walk to the reception area, but it was nice and quiet wher...
