“Great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014

One of the best hotels I've stayed at. Great in all respects. I just wish it were a bit less expensive. Location was terrific because we were able to walk to the falls before the park opened, so had the views practically to ourselves.

There are many benefits to staying next to the falls, especially if it's a cool, rainy day you can go back in 2 minutes and change without waiting for a bus to take you outside the park. The hotel is EXCEPTIONAL!! Breakfast is plentiful, the resort is quite large and beautiful!! Amazing toiletries!! Staff is truly wonderful... it's expensive, but worth every penny!

Our trip didn't start well with some confusion over the booking. The hotel made us wait in reception for over an hour while the sorted it out which wasn't appreciated. Words like "As it stands, you will be paying the full walk in rate" aren't appreciated when the problem was an admin error and not our fault. Front desk can come across rather surly and haughty generally.

Rooms are good but by no means luxurious. In addition, dining options are very limited. The a la carte restaurant is perennially booked up leaving the Brazillian buffet as the other option so if you don't want this, book your table well in advance.

Ultimately you are paying for the location rather than the hotel. Bear in mind you will need to pay to get into the park before you even get to the hotel. Being a guest doesn't exempt you.

On the positive side the location is excellent. You are able to get to the falls in the morning before the tourist busses arrive. The Iguacu Experiences staff based in the hotel are also very helpful.

Room Tip: If you can stretch to it, pick a falls facing room

This hotel is located inside the Foz Do Iguacu forest. One has a clear view of the Iguacu Falls from the hotel; a spectacular natural wonder of the world! It is the only hotel inside the forest and has exclusive access to the Falls before 10am and after 5pm.
It is a top class property with great amenities and service. Warm and welcoming staff, very efficient concierge with good food and a spa.
It is on the pricier side. But, a must if one is planning to visit the Falls.

Room Tip: The ones facing the Falls!

This is a remarkable place. The falls at Iguazu are one of the natural wonders of the world. This hotel is immediately adjacent to the falls and uniquely is the only hotel on the Brazilian side that is within the national park. So as guests there one can see the falls at dawn, dusk and by moonlight without anyone else there. It's a magical experience.

But this hotel does not just rely on its location to excel. It's a really excellent place to stay, with beautiful rooms, immensely competent and friendly staff plus one off the best hotel pools that I know. The poolside restaurant offered a particularly good barbecue in the evenings - rather better than the more formal dining room, where the results did not justify the difficulty of securing a reservation there. The gardens and old colonial architecture of the hotel were also especially attractive. Highly recommended.

We were told two days by the falls was enough, and maybe it is, but coupled with a stay at this hotel we had an amazing experience. Five days of relaxing, outstanding service, facilities and trips was worth every penny.

Visited here with my wife for two nights and we loved this place. We got the hotel car to pick us up from the airport and it was ideal.

On arrival you are blown away by the view of the falls which are literally on the doorstep of the hotel.

The rooms are very comfortable and beautifully appointed with all the little luxuries you would expect.

Lunch by the pool was excellent - a great setting and a choice of fine dining or snacks with a good choice of wine by the glass. Limited beer options, 2 basic local brands and imported Stella Artois only.

We visited the hotel spa for a massage and while not cheap it was very good and a rare treat to enjoy.

Loved the bar for a pre dinner cocktail - excellent caipirinha's and great location either outside on the deck or inside in the beautiful lounge. Excellent for a light dinner.

We also had a dinner at the a la carte restaurant and went the whole hog - lovely meal, not cheap but not outrageous either and again well worth it.

We took the full moon tour of the falls which was absolutely amazing - a rare experience to see them at night in a small group and to experience our first ever 'moonbow' which was very special.

Great buffet breakfast by the pool, excellent tour service team (extremely helpful). We visited the Argentinian side of the falls but recent flooding had closed their main trails and we honestly thought he Brazilian side was better - we took a few walks from our hotel in the early evening and morning and it was fantastic. Make sure you do the Brazil side boat tour - it was brilliant.

Sadly we didn't see any toucans but we will get over it. We would definitely love to come back.

If you only visit once - do it in style. You won't regret it. Much better than the Sheraton option.
