Be aware that this hotel is very much a place for children.
There are many activities and playthings to cater for family vacation needs.
But that also means that there are noisy little people everywhere from breakfast to the bar and that can be a little tiring.
Nice rooms, well kept and clean.
Rather indifferent food, both for breakfast and dinner.
Friendly, but not very competent service. (Reception can't print a .pdf boarding pass, business center is closed...) Nice and very friendly tour organizer company in the hotel. Can organize a falls tour on short notice. (And can print a .pdf....)

Since we were in Rio we took the opportunity to fly to Foz de Iguassu to see the Falls or ´Cataratas´ - the only big waterfalls we had not as yet visited as it was not quite two hours by plane from where we were.

This time we opted to go to the Bourbon Cataratas Convention & Spa Resort near town. The hotel nestles amongst exhuberant foliage and offers more freedom of movement than at the Das Cataratas Hotel which is situated in the waterfalls nature reserve where entering and exiting means a lot of organisation.

In spite of it being full of children (school holiday time) this hotel offered entertainment to keep all age groups busy therefore giving the parents time off to do their own thing. A lovely pool offering ample shade under the many trees, a gymnasium and a beauty treatment section.

The food was extraordinarily good offering delicious salads, hot and cold meals. Very plentiful, well prepared and displayed. The service however was not so fantastic, perhaps due to the large number of hotel guests. Cheeses, a great variety of desserts and fresh fruit.

We had arranged a pick up service from the hotel and since the driver and guide proved to be excellent we kept him to take us to Itaipu- a colossal dam between Paraguay and Brazil catering for all of Paraguay´s electrical needs and 70% of Brazil´s as well as the long awaited visit to Iguassu Falls.

What a fantastic sight. Absolutely magnificent surpassing all expectations and being the highlight of out visit to Brazil.

Bourbon Cataratas Convention & Spa Resort made it all possible, simple and agreeable for us. A visit here is a must. Can recommend.

First of all you are here to see the falls which will have you catching flies as your mouth will be hanging open In awe throughout the entire trip. But to come back to this hotel after a long , hot awe inspiring day is a bit of heaven. Everything about this hotel screams first class without being opulent. The rooms are large and neat, the lobby and staff wonderful. But what makes this beautiful hotel truly unforgettable is the grounds. They have an enormous pool and grounds that will blow you away. You can walk for hours seeing animals in an enclosed park, a beautiful jungle with walkways and an enormous organic garden where they grow the food that is served in the restaurant. The salads at night are the freshest you will ever eat.

It maes you feel stupid to pay só much for a hotel and then find out you have no free wi fi. I am here now and paying to post this.
The hotel is dated and the corridor STINKS of cigarretes. I complained twice ans they say there's nothing that can do about it.
Breakfast today wasn't nice either. The chocolate croissant was old and the coffee cold.

Conveniently located in between the airport and the city, this hotel is very comfortable and is a good choice for the visitors of this very touristic region. It's about 20 minutes away from the Iguazu falls park. The standard rooms are comfortable but not very big. The congress rooms and facilities are superb for parties over 200 people.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms on the parking side as you may hear the tour buses engines for a long time in the mo...

Stayed here for one night to see the falls from the Brazilian side. The hotel looks great and has a very impressive lobby but it is let down by the price/cost and it also feels in need of face-lift. Rooms were large and comfortable. No free wifi which is stunning given the cost. We arrived quite late from Rio so had dinner at the hotel restaurant, which was just a very average buffet despite lots of well dressed staff in suits. Nothing special. Breakfast the next morning was overcrowded (conferences) and again food was just ok. On the positives the hotel is near the falls and airport and very close to the border with Argentina, hence why we picked it. It has a large pool and looked to have decent sports facilities but we had no time to avail of those. Hotel needs to be modernised with its prices and food looked at.

The lobby and bar/restaurant area of the Bourbon are very nice. They gave us drink coupons which we used to have two excellent Caipirhinas.

The bed in the room was not very comfortable, and the room felt a bit grungy.

The dinner buffet ($27USD pp) was mediocre and overpriced, but the free breakfast buffet was solid.

Considering the room was $200USD/night, I couldn't believe they charged us extra for wireless!

Also, there IS NO FREE SHUTTLE to the Falls. We were erroneously told this when we booked the hotel.

On the bright side, it's very safe and was comfortable enough for one night.
