I was really surprised. Was at this hotel as a kid, and the hotel is still a great place to stay.
Nice updates are always done, and the big rooms, pool and bar are still there.
Very good service, location and restaurant make the experience complete.
Heard about new improvements that will be done at the bar and front desk, and the inside hot pool is too small, could be updated too.
Nothing to do at night at the hotel, could have some activities not only for kids.

Room Tip: Buy half pension, good value for money.

In the positive side, the Hotel is very nice with all the necessary things to have a very comfortable stay. The Hotel also has a nice pool and a big garden with walking trails to go around. It is very nice to walk around in the morning and afternoon.

Our enthusiasm about the Hotel was dampened because of many bad interactions (communications) with the staff members in the front desk and their un-helpfulness. If you cannot speak Portuguese or you speak English, please don't expect to get any help from the staff and you will not get the same service as the three to five stars hotels in America. It is very difficult to get very simple information from the staff members; they are not very helpful. The staff members do not have a broad knowledge about the City and surrounding. Anything you ask about the sites to see, they will send you to the Hotel travel agent. The Hotel travel agent was not very helpful either; the travel agent is set up not to give you any help but it is set up for you to spend more money without good services. So, we ended up going to Information Center across the street from the Hotel to get information. The two young girls across the street at the Information center speak English very well and help us a lot with (a) The Falls information, (b) The Bird Park, and (c) different transportation modes to anywhere you go. They also were very helpful on planning our trip to Iguazu Falls in Argentina. Although we ended up using the travel agent service to go to Argentina (due to a safety concern of taking Taxi or Bus to Argentina and crossing the border), most of the information about crossing the border came from those two girls at the Information Center. At the Hotel Travel Agent, we had to insist to get an English-speaking Guide because the travel agent lady said they only will try to get an English-speaking travel agent after we paid the fee. Finally, we got an outstanding English speaking guide after our strongly insisting to her. We felt that the travel agent and the Hotel staff members were very tight lips about any information about tourism to the people who stay in the Hotel; we felt that they keep us in the dark for exploitation. A simple example is about transportation; when you want to go to the Brazil Iguazu Falls , you have to take Taxi for 150 Real (75 USD) round trip or 75 Real one way. They insisted that it has to be round trip. We had to argue with the staff to get a one way Taxi trip. This does not make sense because a Taxi trip form the Airport to the Hotel with a similar distance is about 38 Real. The travel agent will charge you 40 Real per person to go to the Airport; thus, it was about 80 Real for two people. This is another thing that does not make sense!!!! Because we were not happy with the way the staff and the travel agent treated us, we ended up taking the bus many times, which is cost 3 Real/person (1.5 USD) for a trip. During the rush hour the bus was full; the bus was reasonably empty at the non rush hours (10 AM and 3:00 PM). It should be noted that the bus does not have air-conditioned. Overall, physically the Hotel was great; however, we felt that we have been exploited with a bad taste in your mouth. The Hotel needs to send their staff members for training to Tourism schools outside Brazil if the Hotel wants to improve their service their customers from outside Brazil. It is ashamed that a very nice Hotel has mediocre services from the staff will low communication and interpersonal skills.

Room Tip: The Hotel is far from the City or from the Falls. So, if you want to see the Falls, stay at the Hote...

We stayed here on a tour and really enjoyed it. The room was large and comfortable. The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent. The pool area is great and there were very nice gift shops. We loved the falls but would like to have had more free time in the hotel.

First timer at Foz do Iguazu and first time at a Bourbon Hotel............ i must say i was deeply impressed. Went with my two very young daughters and they really enjoyed the "Turma da Monica" park and children`s pool. Service is outstanding and staff very keen and trained. This hotel received a high flow of tourists from all over the world and holds a very good and balanced service for everyone. Restaurants have a superior quality and food is excellent. Cannot say it is cheap but certainly worthy if looking after a good location close to the falls, good service and zero problems. Just worry about beign relaxed. It is a big property and environmentally self sustained.......... take a walk around the backyard and Green trail....... you will understand how good they are dealing with environment.

Room Tip: Pick up a room at second floor close to the pool ramp

I was there for 4 days for a congress. The room was comfortable but small for the price. The toiletries of average quality (I expect better for this price). The breakfast and dinner buffets (you can buy half board or just breakfast) were plentiful, varied and of high quality although with very little of Brazilian cuisine of which the country is rightfully proud. Outside was hot, the meeting rooms invariably cold (bring sweater/jacket). The pool was big enough to swim laps, a pleasant surprise. There is a lovely garden in the back which is beautiful and very pleasant for a walk or even jogging. It a ways to town or the falls but taxis are cheap and the public bus in front of the hotel is cheap, quick and reliable.

BIG NEGATIVES: They advertise "free internet" but it turns out you get 2 hours free and if you disconnect due to the weak wifi signal they start trying to charge you. Big hassle. If you are there for business and need regular contact with your office be prepared to pay. Also, they advise you not to drink the tap water and helpfully provide expensive little bottles of mineral water in the minibar but NO FREE POTABLE WATER. I have been all over the world and never seen a hotel that did not provide a bottle of drinking water if the tap water was not safe.

Pretty nice hotel located abut 25 minutes drive to the park and the falls. Also pretty close to the airport. Our room was large and the temperature was reasonably comfortable. The walls were somewhat thin as we could sometimes hear other guests in adjoining rooms as they showered, flushed toilets, or watched TV. They provided free wifi, which was reasonably fast. The hotel offered large variety of choices for in the breakfast buffet, and dinner options were the dining room buffet or a separate restaurant. All were good. The lobby area was under renovation while we were there, so there was some stepping over cables, navigating loose and uneven carpeting, and dodging workers on our way to the front desk. The front desk staff offered minimal customer service. There was an expensive jewelry shop in lobby offering overpriced Brazilian gemstones but there was also nice shop for reasonably priced T-shirts and swimsuits. The hotel has a very nice pool and beautiful gardens with animals as well as an Impressive play area for kids.

We have always wanted to see the Iguassu Falls so we did not pay to much attention where we were going to stay. When we arrived at the Hotel Bourbon we were taken back with the lay out of the place. the hotel grounds are huge with swimming pools play area for children walking tracks a animal an bird zoo and the rooms were excellent. Meals were of a high standard an the staff very helpful. We spent five weeks travelling around South America and stayed at nice hotels but this was by far the best hotel. We enjoyed the falls but it was great to come back to this hotel and relax.

Room Tip: ask at front desk for a map of the hotel and grounds lay out.
