“Best views in Buzios”

Amazing Villa, with incredible views, particularly from the lounge and pool area. I thought the pictures were photo shopped but no, they really are that good. Owners and Alejandro were very pleasant and easy to deal with. It is quite high up and a fair trek into town but if you don't mind walking in lovely surroundings, it's fine! Only problem is we only had 3 nights there.

“A little piece of heaven.”

This is a beautiful villa, set in a truly remarkable setting. Buzios is a small seaside village, with large appeal. I must warn you, tho that there are many stairs, some with no handrails, so it is a little harder for the infirm to comfortably access the bedrooms. Also, the windows open to a gorgeous vista, but are low to the ground and would make it dangerous for a small child, as there are no screens, and the entire villa is not child proof. The fence around the pool is also not safe for children. The kitchen is well equipped, and the fish market had delicious fresh fish.

“gorgeous villa and fab views”

huge villa - loads of room for everyone - big bedrooms all ensuite. Only downside is that as is a self catering accommodation would expect a bit more in the kitchen - eg a kettle! As brits we like to make tea etc and this could only be done by boiling water on the stove - quite hot when weather hot too! Also there aren't any proper food shops open late that we could find to buy stuff - so if you are arriving after 5pm or at weekend (as we did) suggest you get stuff en route (eg water/milk/bread etc). Takes 15-20 minutes to walk into town but suggest taxi back up steep hills as villa is high up and is a mighty walk! The nearest beach was not so nice - you are expected to pay just to sit on your own towel - very annoying - but ones a little further away (over rocks) are quieter and you don't have bar owners/cafe owners hassling you to buy drinks or lunch. Suggest getting the fresh coconut from the beach sellers though - at 8 reis is a must - although bit more expensive than in other areas. Pool at villa lovely - and plenty of room for sunbathing.
would not recommend bringing children aged under about 12 as the fence around pool is quite open - also windows in villa are very big and very low. Not suitable for people with mobility problems or elderly as villa has many steps.

“Idyllic spot”
Reviewed 24 August 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Three of us stayed here for a week at the end of our travels round Brazil. What a beautiful property with such amazing views from every room. As a previous reviewer said, exactly
Iike the photos, with no disappointments. The perfect place to kick back and enjoy some R&R. An easy downhill walk to local beaches - but get a taxi back up! Alejandro, the local manager is really helpful as is Jan, the owner. Would definitely come back if (when) we return to Brazil. Cannot recommend highly enough! Thank you.

“Exactly like the Pictures, Stunning Views, Excellent Service”
Reviewed 13 February 2012 for a stay in January 2012

I stayed here with friends for a week just after New Year in Rio, we wanted to relax after a hectic New Year. The villa is just as the pictures show, its very big and luxurious and the views are second to none, amazing panoramic views from every room and wall to wall windows which slide back in the living room.

We had a fantastic service from Alejandro who looked after our every need and whom we could call any time for help or just to recommend and book restaurants/day trips. The pool is shared with a few other villas on a private plot of land but this did not effect us so much as we intended to be out much of the time and no one else was staying in most of the villas anyway. the pool is also a very good size with amazing views.

Unfortunately the weather let it down for us (which was highly unusual for that time of year) but we did see the beaches using the famous dune buggies (excelllent fun) and had one glorious day on the beach with cocktails and fresh barbecued fish at JOÃO FERNANDES beach, walking distance from the villa but a hike up steep hill. Taxis are easy and plentiful from to and from town, around15 real back to the villa and Buzios town is beautiful with lots of shops and bars and lovely quaint cobbled streets. You shouls also do the day trip boat ride but get the one with the water shute.

We had Wi Fi but it was terribly slow and temperamental. I think in this part of Brazil I'm told thats just the way it is. We also had our own guard at the entrance to the private lot who could even organise shopping for us.

Thoroughly recommend the Villa and Buzios

My husband and I stayed at the casa vista azul for one week in April 2011 with my parents. It was an amazing experience. My only regret is that we did not stay longer. The house is a gem and the views are breathtaking. It was nice to be a bit outside of the touristy town and we were able to enjoy our time at our own pace. Especially given the high prices of Buzios restaurants, we also liked having the kitchen so that we could cook some nights. The owners and property managers provited top knotch service and good recommendations. We can't wait to go back!! Highly recommended.

“Wonderful Views”

My family and friends rented this magnificent house over Thanksgiving week. Our friends are locals, which made everything a lot easier for us. They took us to every beach around the area, all different and beautiful. We shopped, swam, sunbathed. The area is great, seemed pretty safe. The house is large, airy, rooms feel private (lots of stairs, just FYI for toddlers and disabled). Would love to go again. And we got the maid service, who showed up every morning with fresh bread and stayed until we returned from the beach: dinner was ready and everything was cleaned, she even did the laundry! Now that's luxury! We loved it.
