Nice beach in a sheltered bay - popular with the locals. Free deck chairs/umbrellas outside the restaurants - on the basis that you will spend money on drinks and food. Tide tends to come in a fair way leaving only small strip of beach - so need to pick your spot carefully if wanting to stay for a while. Taxi ride from Centro - but only a 15 minute walk if you feel up to it.

What a beautiful beach. The sea is calm, the beach is quiet and the view is gorgeous. Want to be back there now, sipping on a agua de coco and listening to the waves gently lapping.....

If you're looking for a beach free from loud music and beach huts selling fried food, this is it. As there is almost no commercial activity here, Ferradura (horseshoe) is a beach for the lucky few that own or rent a place here. But access is free, as it is by law in every beach in Brazil.

As long as you are visiting this beach between December-April you can expect a lovely setting, relatively clear water and good for those wanting a swim, decent water temperature likewise on a clear sunny day. Outside those times I can imagine water being slightly murky. It was quiet during our visit, had 10 feed either side to ourselves. There are dinning options on the beach albeit expensive, be prepare to pay RS 30-50 minimum for food, drink inc service charge.

This is a beautiful beach totally sheltered from the Atlantic. In the Caribbean it would be classified as a "hurricane hole" where boats would shelter during major storms. Its unique physical characteristics means it is a great beach for families, particularly those with small kids. At one end, you can find pedal swan boats, jet skis and all types of water sports activities.
