We stayed here for 4 nights, we had booked for 3 nights but arrived one day early, luckily they had space for us, We were shown 2 rooms, the first one was nice nothing to wow amazing special, but decent enough depending on your standards. The second room was called Thailandia, it was awesome, l travelled thailand for 3 months and the room was sophistically decorated in goods from Thailand. The room was spacious with air con, TV and an ensuite. This time me and my boyfreind were in Brazil for 2 weeks on hols, but we still took our backpacks and travelled around a bit. So my standards for accomodation were a lot higher this time then when l was a real backpacker!!! The bathroom could have done with a sprucing a bit of paint would have done the trick, however it was clean with towels and soap etc. The breakfast was yummy, a selection of cheeses, ham, fruits, cofffe, tea, juices, cakes, jam cream cheese etc and even a toaster. There was white bread, brown, baguettes and little rolls. Even if you were up late they would still bring out more food if there wasnt much left, we saw a couple with scrambled eggs and asked the lady who controlled breakfast if she could cook us some. She was more than happy too do it, really freindly!! The swimming pool was nice surrounded by trees and flowers, it was large enough to swim in not like some of the swimming pools you see in the fotos, where they look big and then when you see it in real life its only big enough for your body without movement. The general ambience of the pousada was relaxing with only couples staying there, there weren't any drunks coming back later and making loads of noise, its located on a quiet road and the police station is just across the road (l didnt hear any sirens). The location was perfect for us, we were going to stay in Joao Fernandes but the pousadas there like to charge nearly double the price for ummm just a view. We thought we are going to spend min time in the pousada (which we did) so whats the point in paying extra cash for a view. We did vist Joao Fernandes and the beach was packed you cant lie down only sit in a deckchair where you have to cosume to sit, also its miles from Centro so if you want to go out for the night and have a selection of resturants you can take a mini van (local transport) early in the night, but later you would need to take a taxi. To do that every night would get a little tiresome in the end, or you could just stay in the same location for the entire hols, we like to explore so this pousada was perfectly located. Its close to Ferradura beach being just 10min walk down the road. There parking too so if you hire a buggy for 24 hours to explore Buzios you can park it in the pousada over night.. There is one negative thing that happened, i cant be 100% sure but l think there were bed bugs in our room........l was bitten repeatidly on my back in the same place, and bed bugs are reknowned for biting many times in one place.....or it could have been bugs in the sand, there are some nastly little creaters that can be found in sand . Anyway it was itchy as hell......... Also if you go to Buzios take some good bug spray preferably with DEET, we couldnt find any spray that had DEET so we brought a normal one and it did didley squat l was still bitten
