Local bus to Penha will take you there or there is a minivan that leaves from the vacant lot across the street from the bus station. Great scenery and the water slide is definitely an enjoyable sight. Highly recommended. Poinsettias were growing native by the distillery on the other side of the street from the falls..

We took the local bus to the falls leaving from the bus station. They only run about every hour or hour and a half. Had we known about the more frequent local minibuses that run to the falls we would have asked where to get one from. They do not go from the bus station. The water slide was a lot of fun but you have to be careful as the rocks are slippy and we saw several people fall on their way to the start of the slide. After having slid down the rocks into the cool water pool at the bottom we made our way to the Tarzan cafe. Very pleasant . A nice place to enjoy a cool drink or have a snack lunch.

Read all these reviews and its make me think I must be a wimp ! So yes, you can slide down it, but looks to me like if you end up on the right hand side, you end up head on into rocks as you land when the gradual slide steepens. I'm sure great fun....but not one I'd go down...but then roller coasters freak me out. Anyway nice area, nice walk, nice swim in the pool, but don't underestimate the slide !

We didn't want to wait for the bus (they don't go every hour......), so we took a taxi as family of four, which was quick and only 40 reals. It is easy to find. Bit slippery trail in the rain, but worth it. There is a nice bar at the top, with refreshments, food and bathrooms. The natural pool was freezing, but fun in the rain. The top of the slide is very slippery, my kids found that out the hard way.... and they were down in a second. Going down on the slide was great fun, but terrifying at the top. We went a couple of times. The bar had a bus timetable, so we took the bus back to Paraty (14.80 real for 4).

We took the local bus from Paraty, and had a fun afternoon. We went for a walk knowing there was a rock slide, but not exactly sure where. When we came across it there was just 2 guys ahead of us who we watched slide down, it looked fun so we tried and that was it we were hooked. We then had the whole place to ourselves, gradually a few more people arrived and wanted us to show them where to go down. Just as we were getting ready to leave 2 local lads arrived and went down the rock slide standing up- this was incredible, a real skill, they didn't play up to the crowd, but were obviously just enjoying themselves. Definitely worth a couple of hours visit.
