Really liked this. Certainly not nearly the amount of treasures as within the Museo Imperial but this gave it a more relaxed welcoming feel for the visit. Originally a private house, then the seat of state government, it has had the honour of hosting visits of 16 previous presidents. One bedroom remains intact to reflect this. Unfortunately the War Museum in the rear of the grounds next door was closed

It's a great palace from outside! I didn't have the opportunity to go inside, but seems to be very imponent. The presidents of Brazil always go there.
