It keeps the old tradition. The food is extraordinary and the place a typical tropical belle-epoque café and restaurant. It's really worth visiting.

Amazing buffet lunch - the food was gorgeous. Fish, meats, more meats, sides, salads - everything. Then dessert - miniatures of all the treats in the bakery downstairs (so don't eat any before lunch!). Mmmmmm try a little of everything.

A couple of dishes were a little salty, but otherwise exquisitely cooked and presented. Would be good it there were labels on all the desserts like the mains.

A little pricey perhaps R$87 but worth it.

To top it off the staff are wonderful so attentive, friendly and helpful (our waiter Thiago was wonderful).

Aside from the food being good - and the building - the pianist Guileame topped of the atmosphere. Continually playing songs from disney to coldplay to classics to even the tune of old-shool mario nintendo! Our waiter asked if we would like to request an Australian song - but he didn't know by Land Down Under by Men at Work. Music was beautiful.

Thank you!

This place is for sure something else. The little streets in the downtown are all kind dirty and weird, but when you get to “Confeitaria Colombo” you just know I’ve found it, ‘cause it’s so different from everything else. Through the glasses doors you can see the lights, the vintage style and you’ll feel like in different year. Anyway, that is how I felt. Don’t forget to try the most famous cappuccino; it was the best of my life for sure. The sweets, to be honest, I wasn’t that crazy about it. Too big, too sweet, not my taste. The staff was great by the way. They also have a pretty expensive restaurant up stairs if you want to have lunch in style. The only thing is that the downtown area is not the safest place on the city, so try to be careful and don’t live after the sunset.

We had the buffet lunch on the superior floor level, the food was very good and there was plenty of different options all included in the buffet. Unfortunately we couldn't try them all even if we stayed there all day we were just to full. The deserts and cakes are gorgeous and again there are so many options the problem is choosing what not to have. The building itself is beautiful with its colonial design. It's a must go to when in Rio, do not miss a visit to this place you won't regret it.

I've been there a couple of time. They have available a buffet (second floor) or the cafeteria, where hey serve salads and sandwiches, you can have coffee with a typical Brazilian pastry (with lots of Portuguese influence).

What I like the most are the floors and the very big huge mirrors they have.

Food is fine, pastries and desserts are delicious. This is a place that transport you to the Rio de Janeiro of the Portuguese empire days.

If you have enough days in Rio, this is a place you should definitively go. I recommend it.
